It'd been a week since Sangwoo's little adventure with Misun. She'd called him again and asked if they could spend some time together on the weekend.
They'd both agreed to meet on Saturday.
His home life had taken a turn for the worse. His father came home every night, and the beatings would often continue until he was too tired to raise his arm or until the boy passed out.
The boy's mental health had taken a nosedive as a result. The one positive thing about this, however, was that his determination to leave had become even stronger.
He didn't feel like going into work today, but couldn't afford to take the day off. He checked his phone, hoping to finally see an update from Bighit.
Unfortunately for him, there was no email. He decided he'd check once again in the evening, and if no contact was made, he'd find another way to escape his dad.
Because there was one thing he knew for sure: he'd die if he didn't.
The environment in the house was becoming more and more toxic, and his ability to bear it without resistance had been getting weaker day by day.
Just then, he heard a crash. It made him flinch, and he looked toward his door. It sounded like a bottle shattering against the wall.
What was his father up to now?
He opened the door and looked down. His father's face looked back up at him. His eyes widened and he bolted back inside, slamming the door shut and locking it.
His chest heaved. The look in his father's eyes made it clear to Sangwoo that he was up to no good.
