October 8, 2018:

Two weeks had passed since the 'interaction' Sangwoo had had with Yoona. During that time, he'd tried to forgive her.

A part of his conscience told him to forgive her for his own sake, and another part told him not to in order to preserve his dignity.

It wasn't for lack of trying on the girl's part. She'd called him on the day of, within an hour. A barrage of texts followed.

All of them more or less begged for forgiveness.

But the 'rape' comment really got to him. Why would she joke about something like that?

He didn't know what to do at this point. If he forgave her, he was afraid he'd question himself over why he'd let it slide. He'd question whether it was that easy to forgive someone. Was he being too easy on her? And as a result, was he allowing that kind of behavior to continue?

If he ended up doing the opposite, he was afraid he'd be too harsh with his words, and it wouldn't come across the right way.

On top of that, there was the recurrent issue with his father, who--amazingly enough--had not done anything too harmful during that time period. There were the occasional beatings, but it wasn't as bad as the one which had led to him falling in the bathroom that day.

And that buzz on his phone from last week. That wasn't from BigHit. It was some random telemarketer.

Screw that guy.

Deciding to go for a run to clear his head, he changed into a pair of sweatpants and a loose hoodie, which went over his T-shirt. Once he put his socks and shoes on, Sangwoo popped his head outside the door to check for any signs of danger.

Not a sound was heard.

This reassured the boy, and after he turned off the lights in his room, he quietly made his way downstairs. His father wasn't home, surprisingly enough.

The old geezer must be at the bar, Sangwoo thought. He's going to drink himself to death if he continues.

But did he really care?

"I don't, but my morality does."

You are your morality.

"No, I'm not."

Yes, you are.

But if he was his morality, then why question it? Why question his principles?

Because he's been awful to you.

Certain circumstances could make one question their sense of right and wrong. What once seemed completely inappropriate could begin to feel a little more real, a little more correct. And that was what was happening to Sangwoo as of this moment.
