It is loud. A bit chilly in the room. The familiar comfort of a mattress is under her, making her realize something. She slowly opens her eyes, seeing the ceiling of the college dorm room she's so used to.
A sigh of disappointment leaves her lips as she sits up. Something in her hand makes her look down. She opens her fingers, seeing tickets laying in her palm. It takes her a minute, focusing on the English and Hangul mix on the small slips of paper. Finally, it clicks. A ticket to a fansign. SHINee's fansign and a concert. A small smile forms on her lips and stands up, pinning the ticket to the small board above her desk.
Even when they weren't here, they still manage to squeeze themselves into her life.

A few weeks have gone by since she's returned home. At times, she finds herself questioning if any of it was real. In reality, she had only been gone a day and half. Time passes differently here and there. The date of the fan sign and concert was still sometime away. It was reaching the end of October. The weather was rather chilly, making her bring out cardigans and boots.
The date of the two events was going to be held on November 20th, a few days before Thanksgiving. How did SHINee manage that? She has no idea.
Currently, she is working a shift at the cafe. Her hair pulled back and an apron around her waist. There was talk of a different concert tonight in the city, which meant the cafe would be packed. She writes orders after orders down, going to fix the drinks and desserts. She lets out a deep breath as she walks into the kitchen, taking a moment to breathe.
"Ally! There's a customer on table seven!"
A sigh leaves her. She definitely didn't miss this. She pushes a strand of hair behind her right ear, grabbing her notepad and pen before making her way over. Seven men sit around the table, their masks on and covering the bottom half of their faces. She hasn't looked up to take in their appearances yet, busy finding an empty page.
"Hi. I'm Ally and I'll be your waitress today. What can I get you to drink?" She looks up, eyeing the seven with a smile on. When she recognizes the boys, a laugh nearly escapes. "You guys need to do a better job at disguises."
One of them groans, nudging at the smaller beside them. "I told you this wouldn't work on her, Jimin." The blonde haired boy chuckles, pulling his mask down. "We will get whatever you recommend us." She nods, a smile forming on her lips and she writes down their orders. At least that made her night a bit better.
-
A few hours passed, the boys bidding her a goodbye before they leave for the concert venue. From that moment on, the cafe was packed as she knew it would be.
The closing time was fast approaching, making it easier to work. With fifteen minutes to spare, she was finishing up with closing procedures. She had let the other worker leave early and she was left to her own thoughts. A ring from the door opening fills the air, making her look up from the counter.
"I'll be there in just a moment." She dries her hands off on her apron and walks up to the register. The orange hair peeking out from under the hat makes her smile a little. "Hi Ji Young." He smiles back, the usual grin she was so used to now.
"First BTS and now you. What's going on?" He shrugs, reading the menu. "I had an interview here with T.O.P and they had a concert. SHINee will be here in three weeks. Aren't you excited?"
She nods but frowns a little. "It's such a long time." She takes his order and turns to fix his drink for him. "It will be here before you know."
-
And he was right. With finals approaching, working and not having much time, the day fast approaches. She knows that she had one semester after this one left. She would be able to finally achieve her dreams. Ally had already been looking into many jobs, from places in New York to California and even all the way in Korea.
Either way, she was making progress. She has one step in the door. That was more than she could ever ask.
She sits in front of her mirror, looking at the reflection in front of her. She is definitely the definition of a drained college student. The bags under her eyes prove it. She glances at the tickets on the board then back at the mirror. Time to get ready.
She puts on a little bit of make up and some earrings in. Once done with that, she pulls on some skinny jeans and her favorite SHINee t-shirt. She slides a flannel over it, the air rather cold outside. She pulls on a pair of boots and stands up.
She gently grabs her tickets along with her bag. Everything else was inside the bag, along with her wallet and keys. She checks everything one more time before heading out.
-
The wait outside for a bus was a bit overwhelming. Minutes seem to pass slowly as she waits to board. She sits her back down to slide on her jacket, starting to get cold. Once done, she slides the strap of her back onto her shoulder.
The bus finally arrives, making her even more excited. She climbs on, finding a spot. Once comfortable, she opens her AirPod case and puts the earphones in. She turns her SHINee playlist on. Now, she just has to wait until they reach the destination.
The final destination being the fansign.
Just wait a little longer, boys. I'm on the way.
