Ally sits inside her dorm, a cup of hot chocolate between her hands and a drama playing on the tv screen. It was the week after finals and she has yet to use the key given to her by Jinki.
The small note that Jinki had put into her case was their numbers and LINE IDs. It made it easier to contact them. The huge issues being the time differences. It upsets her to think about, the group living on the other side of the planet. Maybe, one day, she would be there too.
She shakes her head. That was still a semester away. She needs to graduate from college first and then focus on the journey ahead. Her hand goes to the key that hides under her shirt. She told the others she will visit when they decide to go. For now, she will wait and focus on other things.
She didn't want to bother visiting her family at home for the holiday. She's never really gotten along with them. That was the reason why she picked to live further away and live on campus. Occasionally, did she take phone calls and speak to them. That leaves her at school and celebrating the holiday by herself.
Her eyes glance over at the calendar hanging on the way. Jinki's birthday was coming up. Maybe she could visit SHINee World then. A smile forms on her lips and she gets up to throw on some clothes on. She will go to get him a gift to take with her.
-
She trudges through the snow, her boots meeting with the concrete below. She pulls her jacket closer and pushes through, nearly at the shopping center. Ally reaches the small plaza, making her way into the first store to look for something he would like. As she does so, her phone starts to ring.
She pulls the device out, pressing the answer button as she starts filing through the clothes in the men's section.
"Wow. You answered this time." She rolls her eyes, hearing the sassy undertone in the other's voice.
"What can I do for you, Kibum?" She switches to Hangul, knowing it's easier for the other to speak in his native language. He laughs softly and she hears shuffling on the other side. A door closes and he finally speaks up again. "Sorry. I had to escape the rest. Anyway, this is about Jinki hyung's birthday."
She smiles, glad the two were thinking alike. "I'm out looking for a gift for him. I know he will try not to accept it but I figured I would anyway." She hears the other let out a chuckle, but then goes on to tell her what brand he wears and what size. She grabs a few shirts along with some sweaters. The two continue to talk, even after she checks out.
Thirty minutes has passed, she was walking out of the place. A yawn escapes the other on the phone, making her glance at the time on her watch. "Key, you need to get some sleep."
He sighs, "We aren't even back home yet. We are at the studio.
I'm hiding in one of the break rooms." She pouts, gripping onto the bags with her other hand. "Plus, there's something I need to talk to you about." She hums, letting him know that he can continue. He talks about what's on his mind, worried about a certain situation that is going on."I'll send you pictures and see what you think about it." There's some shuffling and then her phone vibrating in her hand. She pulls her phone away, going to LINE and looking at the pictures. She smiles, see the item and the writing on it. She puts her phone back to her ear, hearing a frantic Key.
"Ally? Is it bad? Do you think it's too much? Will he hate it?" A heavy breath leaves the other, "what if he doesn't like it or says no?" She lets out a small laugh, trying to calm down the other. "He won't say no and it's beautiful. Just relax, okay?" He lets out a sigh of relief. A few more minutes go by when she hears a door open in the background again.
"Kibum? We are heading home. Lets go." The voice is faint but she can tell it's Jonghyun. "Yes. Go spend time with your sweetheart," she teases. He cusses her out, making her laugh and the two soon hang up. Ally is happy for the two, knowing this was a huge step for them. She hopes to see them again, very soon.
-
She finally arrives back to her dorm, the heat very much needed. She slides her boots off, sitting them beside her door and sits her bags down onto her desk. As she unwraps her scarf from around her neck, a ding comes from her laptop. She sits down, opening the device to see a Skype notification. Soon, a call appears.
She presses answer, sliding her jacket off as Jinki's face appears. "Hi, love." She smiles, hearing the familiar nickname. "Hi Jinki." He smiles, although tired. It was clearly obvious, exhaustion written all over his face. "You guys need to take a break. Even Key sounded drained earlier." He nods, propping his elbow up on the table in front of him and placing his chin onto his hand.
"We will be taking one soon. Both Minho and my birthday is coming up. We will be resting then." She frowns, still worried about the older. The two had established their relationship when they visited New York. The label officially being girlfriend and boyfriend. They were happy, very much so. It was hard with the long distance but they made it work.
Plus, she will being seeing him soon. Her hand goes up to the key once more. A smile forms on the other's lips, very happy that she wears the necklace. "I miss you, Ally."
She gives him a small smile. "I miss you too, Jinki. I promise to visit you soon." He nods, leaning forward a little. The two talk for a little while, about how his day went and what else she had planned for the day. It was nearly two in the morning in Korea when she starts to usher Jinki off to bed. "We will talk later. You need to sleep."
He lets out a groan, not wanting to hang up. His eyes were starting to close, it quite obvious that he is tired. She gains the courage to finally say the three words, a fond smile forming. "Jinki?" He hums, giving her attention.
"I love you." A bright smile forms on his lips, adoration and love in his own eyes. The happiness so clear. His eyes wrinkling at the corners.
After witnessing that, Ally made a vow to herself. To always make him smile. Because, he looked the best when he's happy. Damn, was she lucky. His smile was so beautiful so she promises to continue reminding him that she does in fact, love him. Just as much as he loves her.
The two eventually hang up, not without him complaining and saying he would be fine without sleep. She threatened him with no more calls if he didn't sleep. That worked because he wished her a good day and went to bed. That left her with the rest of the afternoon, planning his birthday party and writing down details to send to Key later.
