In the nighttime I hear a call
It's lost and desperate like my soulIn the river of this soul
It's deep and tragic evermoreIn the rhythm I feel fear
Strong and cold like water's wavesIt's not for the weak or brave
'Cause this river misbehavesMy heart contains much darkened gloom
This call I answered will be my doomSome might say sin stirs deep within
So I've been building thicker skinCan not change the pace I'm in
I wail and whimper but then I'll grin
