Elijah ran out of the hospital. He vampspeeded back to New Orleans. What else could he do? There's nothing here for him in Mystic Falls.

He grabbed the audiorecorder he found under the hospital pillow of Delilah's bed.

play.

"Elijah...
I don't know what to say. I never thought this would happen, baby. I wish you didn't have to go through this. *sniffing*
I want to make sure you are okay but I can't. I'm not here anymore.
Please don't blame yourself. I know you. Don't imagine the scenarios you could've done to safe me... cause you couldn't. No one could. I have one wish. Don't do anything to yourself and live further. Don't stop. Nothing can kill you, live life at its fullest. And tell Klaus I'm sorry. Again."

Pause.

Elijah threw a bottle of Bourbon against his bedroom wall. They used to sleep here. Together. Now it's just him.

Elijah shook his head and cried loud. Even Delilah could feel his pain and she wasn't here anymore.

Her death broke him.
Elijah stared at the little bar that showed him that he was halfway the audio recording.
He stared for minutes. He took the recording and threw it against the wall. Or what he thought what was the wall.

He quickly jumped up and ran towards the recorder but it had already been lit up into the fireplace.

Tears filled his eyes. He couldn't believe it. Anger always won in his head.
And it didn't always win. He only saw the parts where it did. He was to blind for it to see the good parts.

He closed his eyes, looked up in the sky and screamed as loud as he could.

He looked at the little bar of the audiorecorder that showed him that there was still a part of the recording he didn't hear.
He broke inside.

He closed his eyes and turned it off. All the pain. It was gone. She was gone...

It was all hiden behind that door, yeah, that red one.
Haven't you heard?
