I got the test results.
'And?'
Doctor Beaumont nodded no.
'It's worser then I thought. It has spread immensely.'
Mr. Beaumont kneeled and looked me in my eyes.
'Your lungs will fail at the end of this week. I'm sorry. But we can try to slow it down. It will only increase the amount of daily medication that you have to take.'

I nodded.
This is fucked up. How can I die? I'm a freaking hybrid. What is Elijah going to do when I die? Damon?
Klaus?

' Thanks doctor, for working this hard for me. ' I said.
' No problem, it's my pleasure. '

He walked out of the room.
I looked at the clock hanging above a painting in my hospital room. It was already 4pm what meant that Rebekahs funeral began.
I wish I was there. I miss her every day, even though I didn't knew her as good as the rest, she was still a good friend.

Maybe I'll join her in a couple of weeks. Or days.

I felt tired. The doc had told me that it's normal to feel sleepy after the meds.
So I layed myself comfortable and closed my eyes. Trying not to think of my situation.
Just sleep.

A hand reached my arm. I opened my eyes.
'Elijah!'
'Yes sweetie, how are you feeling?' he asked with concern.
'I'm alright. Really.'
He kissed my lips.
'How was...'
'It was good. It was beautiful actually.' he said.
'There were a lot of photos of little Rebekah. Our youth friends joined us for a couple of drinks as we griefed.' Elijah explained.

I nodded.
I looked him in his eyes. There was no red below his eyes.
He didn't cry or hided it for me.
'Elijah did you...'
'Stop Delilah. I didn't okay!'
'Calm down. It's okay.'
'It's not okay. It's my sister's funeral and ALL my mind is thinking is how you are doing!'

I grabbed his shoulders and used my arms to get him closer to me.
'I'm fine right now.' I said.
'Yes but that's right now. You...
You haven't done the things I always imagined that we would do together. In the future.' he whispered the last sentence.

'Then we do it right now.' I whispered back.
'What?'
'Elijah. I don't have much time left. All I wish, right now, is that you will be able to live further without me.'
His head was shaking no.
'I can't live without you. I can't do that.'
'You'll have to. Please.' I begged.
His head was buried inside my neck. His tears were wetting my shirt.

He pulled back. We both sat on my bed.
'What did the docter told you?'
'He said that my lungs are failing. But there is medication to slow it down.'

I used my fingers to wipe off his tears of his face. He looked at me. His deep, dark eyes showing grief.
His hand slowly went up to my face. He did the same thing. He wiped of mine.

' I always imagined ourselves swimming in a lake. I'd hold your towel to dry you. We'd both lay on a blanket, laying down and staring at the stars.' Elijah said. His deep voice full of emotion.

'I'd like that.'

'I know you would.'

'We have to go.' Elijah said.
'Hmm?'
He took the needle out that was in my arm.
'We're going to the lake.'
A smile captured my face.

He holded me close and picked me up. He brought me to a lake.
It was evening. The lake was closed so we were the only one there.
'Cmonn, do you want to swim?'
My head was enthusiasticly shaking yes.
He pulled of my shirt as I pulled down my short. I was only wearing my underwear.

I was already running towards the water.
'Wait for me!' he yelled as he quickly unbuckled his belt and took of his pants.
His shirt was thrown on the sand. All of our clothes were laying spread on the sand.
He sprinted towards me. I was still running to the water.
We both kept running even though our feet were already wet by the water.

I jumped forward and went underwater.
'Hey!' Elijah yelled.
'What?' I turned around to face him.
'This.' he said as he used his arms to splash water all over my face.
We both laughed. Really fucking hard.

'Can't believe we're doing this.' I said.
'Oh, because I am an old vampire means I don't like playing like a kid in the water.'
I laughed again.
'No, just this. The two of us. In the water. I never thought I could be  happier.'

He looked at me with his big eyes.
Love was the only thing I could see in them.
'I love you.'
I wanted to say that I loved him too but he already splashed me again.

'Oh you're getting that back.' I said.
I chased him in the water. It was like we were walking on the moon.
I jumped on his back.
My hands rested on his shoulders and his neck. His hands grabbed my legs.
I looked around us. The sky was turning darker.
'Hey, there's a jetty.'
'Do you want to go there?'
'Yeahhh.' I answered.

He walked towards the sand. I was still on his back. He carried me easily. His hair caught my attention. I went with my fingers through it. He grinned.
I tried making a Mohawk.
'Hey, what are you doing?' he asked.
'Making a Mohawk, loser.'

The grip of his hands on my legs tightened.
'Don't you dare making me look like a fool.' he joked.
'You already are a fool.'
We were standing on the jetty.
It wasn't that high. About 8 foot high.

'Me? A fool? Impossible.' he responded.

'You are a fool for me. And I love that.' I joked.
'That's enough, Missy.'
He placed me down on my feet. I was standing next to him. He quickly turned around to face me and tried to push me off the jetty.
I was on the edge of falling. With one hand holding his arm, I grabbed him with me as I fell in the water.
We both went underwater and I tried to stand up. The water was deep so I had to tread water.

Elijah was right next to me. He was shaking his head, trying to get all the water out of his ears and hair.
I grabbed him by his shoulder.
'You can't stand here, right?
' I can't. But it's okay. From now on, you are my hold-on.'
He grinned.
I practically hugged him so I didn't had to tread water.
He rocked back and forth as we both told each other stories.
About everything, his youth, Klaus, his life before I was in the picture, my life as a human.

It was a magical moment.
