After the funeral was over, Jaehyun asked her about her plans after this.

When Xin Lisa thought back to the phone calls asking her about her considerations on the house and when she was going to complete the formalities. So, she said, “I’m going back to J City.”

Hearing that, Jaehyun looked at her with a meaningful glance.

Of course, there was no way Xin Lisa would not realize that he was no longer treating her as just a normal friend. So, she explained, ‘There’s no reason for it, I just picked out a house last time that I’m planning to settle down in. So I’ll probably head back there and develop my career.”

Jaehyun smiled. “The developments in J City has been going well these years. My house is there too.”

“Oh.”

“Mhm, you’re welcome to visit.”

“Thank you.”

Jaehyun had originally planned to book her plane ticket together with his, but Xin Lisa felt that she would be more comfortable going back alone, so she politely declined.

Jaehyun seemed to have understood something from her rejection. In a gentlemanly manner, he said to her, “Take care. When you arrive, just give me a call if you need any help.”

“Thanks.” Even though Xin Lisa thanked him, she had never given him her phone number.

Jaehyun seemed to have disappeared as well and never took the initiative to contact her.

After arriving in J City and completing the formalities for her house, Xin Lisa began job hunting. She was quite successful in that venture, and she was hired a few days later by a magazine publisher as a reporter, and Xin Lisa was also brave enough to try a new career. Even though there was a lot of work, Xin Lisa’s abilities were great all-round, so she was able to adapt very quickly to it.

The next time she saw Jaehyun was in a famous restaurant in J City.

That evening, the editor-in-chief of the publishing house was treating everyone for dinner. When Xin Lisa was waiting at the hall to leave with one of her colleagues, she unexpectedly bumped into Jaehyun who just happened to be leaving after dinner as well.

Jaehyun whispered a few words to the two older chairmen in suits who were with him and they said goodbye to him with a smile.

When Xin Lisa  saw him walking towards her, she subconsciously turned to look at her colleagues who were happily chattering away just a short distance away. As expected, he who carried an eye-catching aura of his own like Jaehyun attracted many speculations and curious gazes around him before he even approached Xin Lisa.

On the other hand, Jaehyun acted completely naturally as he stood openly in front of her and asked, “Out with your colleagues today?”

Xin Lisa didn’t really dare to look at him just in case her colleagues were to try and pry some gossip out of her afterwards, so she just nodded. “Yeah, we were just about to go.”

“Oh. I had a bit to drink tonight,” Jaehyun suddenly said to her.

“Hm?”

“I couldn’t refuse them earlier so I had a bit too much.”

Xin Lisa suddenly had the illusion that he was Chen Sinan. They were too alike, really much too alike.

“So?” She asked, unsure.

“The alcohol level was a bit high, so I can’t drive.” After saying that, Jaehyun added a question, “Can you drive?”

Xin Lisa nodded. Then, she looked up to see him happily tossing a set of keys at her.

Xin Lisa didn’t see it, but she still caught it out of reflex. By the time the keys were laying quietly on her palm, she was stunned. She asked, “What’s this for?”

“Drive me home.”

Xin Lisa was speechless. “You want me to drive you home?”
