The more grown-up Jeonsan was, the naughtier he got. Except for the times when he was taking afternoon naps or sleeping at night, he practically never sat still for a moment.
He would play from upstairs to downstairs, then run from downstairs back upstairs again, throwing his toys and stuff everywhere.
As soon as Xin Lisa saw how messed up the house was, she put on a stern face and called out to him, “Jeon Jeonsan!”
“Mommy Mommy!” After hearing her voice, Jeonsan quickly ran over and held up the toys Mao Mingyu gave him.
Xin Lisa had a headache. “Didn’t mommy tell you to pack up your toys after playing with them and put them back into their original places?”
“Mommy, I’m not done playing yet,” the little one argued.
“You’ve been playing all day,” Xin Lisa reminded.
“Mommy, I’ll keep it later.”
Xin Lisa told him sternly, “If you don’t clean up now, daddy will clean you up once he gets back.”
Her use of the word “clean” had two different meanings in that sentence. Jeonsan blinked his big round eyes as if struggling to make sense of his mommy’s words. But he understood that he wouldn’t be able to play around so wilfully as when he was alone at home with his mommy once his daddy comes back.
After Jeonsan turned three, Xin Lisa and Jungkook would take him back to their own home on the weekends.
Jungkook had just started on a new project today so he had left the house early in the morning in his suit.
When Jeonsan woke up and heard that his dad wasn’t home, he played even more vigorously. But now, hearing his dad’s name made his face turn sour. He asked Xin Lisa, “Is Daddy getting off work?”
Xin Lisa leaned down and squeezed his chubby cheeks. She nodded. “Yeah. Daddy sent Mommy a message saying he’s on the way, so are you going to put your toys back where they belong?”
Jeonsan blinked his eyes, feeling a little frustrated. But he could only lower his head and respond unhappily, “Okay, Mommy.”
For Jeinsan, the only person he was afraid of in this world was Jungkook. It might be the way he criticized him with an emotionless face, but after getting scared once, the little guy didn’t dare to disobey anything Jungkook said ever again.
But he was also mad at his daddy.
Whenever Daddy wasn’t home, he could sleep in with Mommy on that big comfy bed. But once Daddy comes back, he’ll definitely carry him back to his own room.
So, Jeonsan always thought: Daddy’s really petty, he won’t let me sleep with Mommy.
As soon as he thought of this, Jeonsan who was putting his toys back into their box ran over to Xin Lisa’s side and tugged on her sleeves. “Mommy! Mommy!”
“What’s wrong? Do you need Mommy to help you clean up?”
Jeonsan scratched his head and thought about it for a moment, then he said happily, “Yeah, yeah!”
“Alright, let’s clean up together, then.” Xin Lisa stroked his head and smiled.
When Jeonsan entered the house, he just happened to see the two of them cleaning up the toys on the floor.
Jeonsan was playing while he cleaned up, and he saw his tall Daddy come in as soon as he looked up, so he quickly tossed the things in his hands and ran over. “Daddy! Daddy! Daddy!”
Jungkook who was taking his suit jacket off stopped. He reached out to pet Jeonsan who had latched onto his leg and asked, “Were you a good boy today? Did you listen to your mommy?”
“Yeah!” Jeonsan nodded strongly.
“Then, I’ll ask your mommy later. If Mommy says no, then I’ll leave you home alone tonight.”
Jeonsan remembered that his daddy and mommy told him this morning they needed to go over to Grandma and Grandpa’s house in the evening, so he hurriedly ran back and pulled Xin Lisa who had just bent over to pick up the toy he tossed away in front of Jungkook and said proudly, “Mommy! I’ve been good, right? Mommy…”
