Chapter 17- A Lovely Reunion

The rest of the day had been pretty fun. The guys never finished their meeting, but they said it wasn’t important, so they fooled around with Abbie and Sammi, mostly trying to mess with them. Abbie didn’t really mind. She liked hanging around with them. They acted like they were her age most of the time, and she felt like she had a childhood again.

The next morning, Abbie woke up in Andy’s bed again, his arms holding her close to him protectively. She screamed and jumped up in shock, though she didn’t get very far. Andy may be skinny and lanky, but he was definitely a lot stronger than he looked. His eyes shot open and he tightened his grip around her almost instinctively, like a stallion protecting his offspring. After he looked around and saw nothing worth screaming at, he glanced down at her.

“Good morning,” he smiled, almost completely unfazed by the fact that she had just screamed because he was holding her. She guessed he was used to it, considering he was in a pretty popular band.

Abbie sighed. “Morning,” she replied, slightly out of breath. She looked up at him awkwardly. He looked back down at her, but wouldn’t let her go.

“Are you still in your underwear?” she asked flatly.

“Maybe…” he trailed off, smirking. His chest was bare and warm against her face, so she suspected there wasn’t much clothing on him under the covers.

“Aw, gross! Let me go!” she exclaimed.

“Nope,” he replied, popping the ‘p’.

“Why?”

“Does it annoy you?” He smirked and looked down at her.

“Yes. And might I add I’m thirteen. Thirteen as in under-aged, thirteen. As in, you’re lucky I don’t have a phone so I can’t call the cops, under-aged thirteen.”

He thought a moment, then let her go reluctantly. “Fine, but I thought horses were supposed to help people with their stress and all that.”

“What?”

“You know. Animals are supposed to help heal and shit.”

“It’s not necessarily in the rule book.”

“There’s seriously a rule book?”

“No. Back to the point, Andy. Why are you stressed?”

“I’m a rock star, there’s a new album to worry about writing, touring, the war is ending soon…” he trailed off and mumbled the last part.

“Th-the war is ending?” Abbie asked, standing up and looking at him. “But, you said there would be a battle to end the war. Does that mean-”

“It’s happening soon. As in, within the next month or so,” he whispered, standing up. Abbie didn’t say anything. She just starred at him. Everything suddenly became real again. It seems like she just go there, and now the war was ending and they were facing a life or death battle. Even if they did win, she wouldn’t be able to be with them anyway. They were rock stars and had lives to get back to. She’d have to go back to entertaining herself by running around in the woods and eating the little bits of grass she found.

“Abbie? Abbie… Earth to Abbie!” Andy said, interrupting her thoughts. She looked at him, then ran at him, wrapping her small arms around his skinny frame. He placed his arms around her, reaching down and hugging her tightly to his body.

“Don’t worry. Everything is going to be ok,” he whispered.

“That’s not what I’m worried about,” she replied. He pulled back and looked at her. She shook her head and ran out. Andy understood and watched her. He knew what she had to do.
