"Barney, we got you a present! I bet you'll really love it this time!"

Barney Pudowski rushed downstairs, eager to see what Graham (his dad), and Donka (his grandma), had bought him for his birthday this time.

FLASHBACK! (a.k.a. recap time!)

On his birthday last year, he had gotten a B*Bot named Ron. As the CEO of Bubble (and the Bubble Network), Marc Wydell described the B*Bot as "your best friend out of the box", but Ron wasn't that at all. At first, Ron would glitch and cause more than a few problems as Barney tried to reconnect with Savannah Meades and Rich Belcher (his two friends since childhood). But over time, Barney grew to like Ron. He'd teach him all about being a good friend, but Ron sometimes didn't understand. He wanted to be Barney's "best friend out of the box" (just like Marc had envisioned). So much so that the harder he tried something friendly, the harder he would slap on a sticker and announce himself as Barney's best friend out of the box.

Ron still didn't get the whole "best friend" thing until one night, when he had accidentally crashed into Savannah's pool (Barney in tow). Savannah and her cat B*Bot, Kelly, were surprised that Ron kept glitching and couldn't make any friends. "I am for making friends?" Ron asked, "How do I make friends with Barney?" And so, Savannah told him (while Kelly projected) all he needed to know about making friends (commenting, sharing, posting, and the like), but the next day, Ron took all that stuff literally.

Ron was wanting everyone in town to be Barney's friend, and at school, he had caused a wild rave to break out in front of the "Need a Friend Bench" which he even renamed the "Barney's Friends Bench". But then things got dangerous once Rich's security B*Bot, Bill, had copied Ron's code. Bill copied and pasted it to another B*Bot, and another, and another! Soon, Kelly, Bill, and all the B*Bots at school had their safety settings unlocked just like Ron, and mass chaos ensued!

Once said chaos was over though, the B*Bots were all rebooted because of a new patch made by the Bubble CCO, Andrew. He fired Marc, reprogrammed the B*Bots, and took all the friendship and social media settings out of all of them (except for Kelly, who went into hiding with Savannah). Barney and Ron (meanwhile) were out in the woods, away from everyone to bond. They were perfectly fine, until things got worse. Multiple B*Bots scanned them with red lasers, and suddenly went back to town, back to their respective homes and owners. Ron tried to get Barney back to town, but just as he'd almost make it to school, his battery ran out. Luckily, Marc, Savannah, and Rich all came to the rescue as they defended them both against the Bubble people, who had wanted Ron back at the Bubble store Barney's parents had bought him from (they actually bought Ron off a truck from some guy in an alley) so they could crush him.

But at the hospital, once Barney woke up, Ron was all fixed, just like he had wanted! Marc had taken out all of Ron's old code, and installed his normal B*Bot code instead. Ron even took a selfie! But the problem now was that Barney liked the old, glitchy Ron. Marc found out that Andrew had taken over Bubble, and had reprogrammed the B*Bots to be the only friends you'll ever need!

So, Barney, Marc, Donka, Graham, Savannah, Rich, Kelly, Bill, and the newly-programmed Ron all went to Bubble headquarters to stop Andrew and get Ron's old code back. But when Barney found the code and plugged it back into Ron, he told Ron to come with him, but Ron refused. Marc realized that Ron wanted to share his messed-up code with the rest of the B*Bots, and if that meant deleting him forever, then Barney had to say goodbye.

Barney said his last goodbye to Ron, he pressed the button that sent his code to all B*Bots, and Ron was gone...forever. But that didn't mean his story was over. Now, all the B*Bots are free from Andrew's control, and are able to be just as glitchy, friendly, and lovable as Ron was. Everyone's able to truly be friends all because of Ron, like Savannah, and Rich, and especially Barney.

But like I said before, this isn't the end of Ron's story. Nope, it's only the beginning.

END OF FLASHBACK!

Once Barney opened his gift, he couldn't believe his eyes. It was a B*Bot (again)! But he felt uncertain about this one, though. "Do you think it'll still have Ron's old code?" He asked Graham. "Well, only one way to find out." Graham encouraged him. "Go on, try it!" Donka said as she stood back. Barney held his hand out with confidence, and put it on the hand-shaped outline on the box.

Instead of rumbling and crashing open like last time, the flap on the box lifted open instead. And, out from the box came the B*Bot. Only this time, instead of it making the dial-up noise, it was actually getting to know Barney by downloading everything it knew about him. When it was finally done, the B*Bot opened its eyes, looked at Barney and said, "Hi, Barney. I am your-your friendly B-B-B*Bot, Ron!" Ron was back! "Ron, it's you!" Barney said, coming in for a hug.

The two embraced each other for a moment. Ron then notified Barney of an email from Marc. Barney then read it, and Marc said he had found a way to restore Ron's old code, and also had added elements of his own B*Bot code with it. Barney was happy that Ron could be like a normal B*Bot while still being his glitchy self.

For the rest of the day, the two rekindled their friendship and bonded in ways they never did before. Ron could still glitch out like always, but with some of Marc's normal code installed, he could send pictures, take selfies, project movies (as well as pictures too), and (with 360 projection technology) even take Barney on a virtual journey to space! The possibilities of hanging out with Ron were endless!

But one day would change all that. A day where Ron would go on his very own adventure. A few whole days where Ron would make new friends. B*Bot friends.
