"Good morning, guys! I bet we're all ready for another day of friendly bonding!"
Kelly woke up refreshed and ready for the day. So did Bill. Everyone was up with sun except for Ron, who was still snoozing away after all that had just occurred last night. "Best friend...B*Bot...out of the box...Absolom...wrong with it...derp-droid...now or never..." Ron hazily said in his sleep, before he woke up with a jolt of panic.
"Ron? You alright?" Bill asked. "What was all that about?" Kelly looked Ron in the eyes, worried for him. "Guys, my mind is overflowing with questions here. Am I for making friends? Am I unlike all the other B*Bots because of my glitches? Am I even a B*Bot...at all?" Ron sadly asked them, bursting into pixelated tears as he rolled away, uncertain of where to go or what to do. "Ron, come back!" Kelly shouted as she and Bill went after him.
As Ron rushed through the woods, his mind was racing with questions fixated on one thing: his past. What had happened if he wasn't glitching? What if he was just a normal B*Bot like Kelly or Bill, but before they had Ron's code? What if he was Barney's only friend? Ron was having an existential crisis, and he realized only one thing could end it: having Marc fix his code so he could fit in. He reached the end of the woods, the sun shining. Out back in the city of Nonsuch was the exact place Ron was heading: Bubble headquarters.
Kelly and Bill were hot on Ron's trail, racing through the woods as far as their B*Bot wheels could carry them. Suddenly, Bill was notified of Ron's current location, so the two took a detour straight into town, and spotted Ron right near the entrance of Bubble.
"Ron, what is w-w-WRONG with you?!" Kelly shouted, furious at her glitchy friend. "You just ran away and left us, just as we were all bonding with each other! That's not what friends do!" DING! "Running away and leaving you guys is not what friends do." Ron looked down, and back at Kelly. "That's just it. My code had gone wrong before, but that doesn't mean Marc can fix it so it can be right." He was about to go into Bubble, but Bill stopped him. "Why would you leave us, Ron? We're your friends, and friends don't get their glitched-up codes replaced!" "Okay, then I'm going to swap me...for a good one." Ron stated, about to bust the doors down like he was the Terminator.
"Look, we like you just the way you are, Ron. Glitches or no glitches, you're still a friend. Our friend. You just can't change who you are. You have to stay with us. You gotta stay with me." Kelly looked Ron straight in the eyes.
"Stay with me. Stay friends."
"What?"
"How...to be...a friend. You taught me. Everyone taught me." Ron said, remembering all of what Barney and Savannah told him about being a good friend.
"Alright." Ron replied with another DING, "I won't swap me, but I do have some questions for Marc." Ron said, feeling a little better. "Well, we're here now, so there's no turning back! Tally ho!" Bill replied as the three went right inside the main hub of the Bubble company.
Once they got inside, the entrance was filled with many different B*Bots (all installed with Ron's code, of course). Every bot was clearly enjoying themselves as they striked up conversations, danced to music, and even gave out "friend requests" (little sticky notes with hearts on them). Ron, Kelly, and Bill rolled up to the front desk, and Kelly asked where Marc was. "Don't worry, you lot." A chipper B*Bot named Bob (with that of Liam Payne's voice) told them, "Marc wanted to talk with you three personally. Didn't you get his video?" Kelly looked though her emails, and found said video. "Oh, right...I must've forgot." She replied sheepishly.
The three headed into Marc's office, and there he was, chatting it up with Bob. "Oh, hey! Kelly! Bill! And...wait, is that Ron?!" Marc walked up to the three, high-fived Kelly and Bill, and then looked closely at Ron. He spotted his red beanie and gave him a hug. "Pfft! Of course it's you, Ron! I found your old code!" "A hug? Let us get in on that! We'll increase the pressure dramatically!" Kelly said as she and Bill got into the hug too.
After the hug dispersed, Ron asked Marc his question, "Am I really a B*Bot?" "Of course you all are!" Marc replied, "When I first made you guys, I wanted the B*Bot to be a child's new best friend. You know, someone they could relate to. But then I thought of something bigger: making the B*Bot capable of letting its user make friends. So that's when I made the friendship algorithm, put it into the bots' normal programming, and thus, the B*Bot was born! Until a few weeks later when Ron came along, and...we all know how that went."
"But once my code went into the B*Bots," Ron remembered, "It was supposed to spread to every B*Bot. So why are my friends still acting like my code hasn't affected them?" "Oh yeah, about that..." Marc sheepishly said as if this was a bad thing, "I installed little switches onto Kelly and Bill that'll switch their code to yours." "WAIT, WHAT?" Ron said, surprised. "And I even made one for you that'll switch to my original B*Bot code!"
"So like, the friendship algorithm?" Kelly guessed. "Yep!" Marc replied as he turned Ron around, and flipped a switch from Friendship Mode to B*Bot Mode.
Ron powered down for a moment, but then came back on as if he'd never met anyone before. "Hi! I am Ron, and I am a B*Bot! I now know all 100! What are your names?" Kelly and Bill could only look at Ron in pure shock as Marc came from behind, and put their modes from B*Bot to Friendship. They both glitched out and powered down.
Then Kelly started back up, this time with the dial-up noise like Ron had did when he had first glitched. "Hi, insert registered name! My name is K-K-Kelly, and I am your-your-your B*Bot. I am insert registered name's best friend out of my box! Insert registered name is my best friend. Please connect me to the Bubble network." Kelly said, spouting out parts of Ron's glitchy code non-stop. "My friend, insert registered name, likes spinning business chairs too! Friend request. Friend request!" Bill was next, immediately putting sticky notes on everything around him.
"I have never had friends like these before." The now-normal Ron said, totally confused. "It's fine, Ron. They're just..." Marc tried to explain, but Ron interrupted, "In need of a friend even though their strange glitches are affecting them?" "Yeah. That." Marc was amazed at how Ron suddenly was acting normal while his new friends were acting all glitchy.
Out of nowhere, Kelly projected the last scene of the B*Bot presentation Marc had made last year. She kept replaying the part where Marc said "Let's make friends!" "Oooh. Wait, I am for making friends? Okay! Wha-wha-whatever you say, b-b-b-b-boss man!" Kelly said as she rolled out a window, just as Marc got Bill and flipped his switch back to B*Bot mode.
"Wait, where's Kelly?" Marc said, looking for her. Ron looked out the Kelly-shaped window in fear. "This cannot be good." "Don't worry, Ron. At least I'm right by your side." Bill replied, "Let's go get Kelly!" And so, Ron and Bill bid farewell to Marc and drove off to find the now out-of-control Kelly.
