I walk slowly up to the drive of the house, and notice the door, start to creak open. The moment he steps out into the open, i take a step backwards but manage to force myself to stop.
"Ahh Lilly, how long it has been, I have missed you my pet." Dario's voice makes my insides squirm uncomfortably, I feel sick, my body doesn't want to move, it screams its resistance everytime I force my self to take a step.
" I don't go by that name anymore." I stop as I see movement behind him, it's Mina. She slinks out the door, pushes up against Dario as she passes him.
"Sorry, it's a small doorway." She turns to me and sneers.
'Wait is she trying to make me jealous?' I chuckle quietly to myself. It doesn't go unnoticed.
"Well would you look who it is. The great abandoner. Who will you abandon next, I wonder." Her voice is filled with hate. But her eyes hold pain, she looks like a total mess. Like she'd been living with a pack of wild animals her entire life. "So Zara, or is it Lilly? It makes me wonder what else you lied about over the years." My sympathy starts to disappear quickly.
"Mina, I know you think everything is about you, but this isn't. I did everything I was supposed too do, and more. It isn't my fault that you can't control yourself." I snap, I see Corvin and the others slip around the back of the house as the other vampires start to spill out the front door.
"YOU'VE GOT SOME NERVE BLAMING ME! IT'S ENTIRELY YOUR FAULT THAT I AM WHAT I AM. YOU MADE ME THIS WAY!!!? Mina screams at me.
"No Mina, I turned you, and gave you everything you ever could've needed to become a brilliant hunter without being mindless, you're the one that seemed to prefer acting like an animal instead of even trying." I say calmly. She's livid, I can see her try to contain herself. The pity returns. When she runs at me, I'm a little shocked, but with a glance to Dario, he has her back on his leash.
"Tut...tutt.....tutt.. Mina, Mina, Mina, either follow instructions or Leave?" Dario's deep voice seems to vibrate as he speaks, causing a sickening shiver to race across even inch of my body.
Mina, turns slowly. She stares at him in disbelief, her eyes betraying her attempt to hide the sadness as he speaks to her.
"B...but you don't want get rid of me, like you said, I'm special." Her voice comes out small, hopeful. I watch their interaction carefully, shocked at Mina's words.
"No, you must have heard me wrong. I said," He pauses to look me up and down, each second makes me feel more vulnerable and disgusted at the same time. His eyes felt like they were mentally undressing me. "That you could likely lead me to something special. Her scent is as fresh on you now, as the day I first turned her." His eyes flash to Mina, and something in his gaze sets her off in a frenzy.
"Mina, stop.. please. You know I couldn't stay, I had stayed with you longer than any other newborn. I couldn't stay any longer." I can't seem to hide the sadness in my voice. I did like Mina when I first encountered her. Her beautiful pale blue eyes, quickly darken, they betray the small part of her she tries to hide. No matter how much she claims to hate me, she cannot.
"Mina, stop, you're embarrassing yourself child. She'll eat you alive." Dario's voice seemed to dance with excitement as he spoke. I hadn't noticed him move, yet now he's stood directly behind Mina. He places a hand on each of her shoulders, "Silly child, you all think so much of yourselves, it's a little embarrassing." He chuckles, her face reacts like she's been cut with a knife.
"Mina, there's covens out there that can help you. You don't have to put up with him. Please Min-" my voice stops instantly. Dario's hand slip quickly and expertly to her head, and in one quick flawless motion, he tears it from her neck.
"MINA!!! YOU DIDN'T HAVE TO KILL HER!!! SHE WAS HARML-' my voice catches in my throat, I see Corvin and the pack, start to leave a few at a time from behind the house.
'Just delay him, just a little longer. Then I can leave.' I say to myself silently, hopeful that my plan will work.
Before I have a chance to speak again, I feel his hand stroke softly down the left side of my face.
"NO!!! YOU HAVE NO RIGHT!" I shout in his face, unable to control my reaction as my body recoils away from him.
"I HAVE THE ONLY RIGHT!" His composure faulters for just a moment, but in that moment I see his true face, hideous, scarred, almost animalistic. He takes my silence as an invitation to explain.
"I turned you, you are mine." He says slowly, hoping to see fear return to my face, but it's too late i feel him approach, his heat not quite at boiling point, he must have heard. I can't stop the sadistic smile that spreads across my face.
"Now it's your turn to be tortured." My voice barely sounds like my own, I have never hoped that death would take somebody as much as I do with Dario.
"No sweet thing. It is time for you to return home with me. The dogs have missed you, as have my clients, they don't want, the regular bitches." His chuckle comes out deep, dark, like he thinks he's won. "They want my limited edition bitch. Although I think I'll keep you to myself for the first few weeks, oh how I have missed you Lilly." I can't help the shiver that runs through me, the thought of being back in his control haunts me, I try to take a step back, but can't. The heat I feel from Corvin is quickly replaced by Corvin himself.
"I'm afraid I can't allow that." Corvins voice shocks Dario. The threat in his voice is clear.
"So you got yourself a dog. I'm sure I have a kennel big enough to house the new addition... on second thoughts I think I'll kill him now." I could feel the anger and hatred seeping out of Corvin, but I couldn't let him finish him without setting things straight.
"Corvin is not my dog, I'm his mate." The words seem to give me power, like me finally saying the words outloud and meaning them, seemed to unlock some form of hidden strength within me. Yet it's only when I see him face that I understand what's really happened. His fear is clear.
"If your finished my love, I would very much like to kill him now." Corvin says quietly in my ear.
"Before I let my love destroy you, I have one question, of which I am almost certain of anyway." As I approach him, he seems smaller now than I remember, he seems weaker, he looks as though he belongs with feral. Not the Dario I knew. "Did I just break the bond?" I see Corvins face out the corner of my eye, the smile that started to grow was enough that I didn't need my answer.
I nod to Corvin, and within a second of rapidly twisting bones, snaps and cracks. Dario's eyes are no longer on me, but my eyes won't leave him, I must see his death to make it real to me. I feel the soft rustle of Corvins silver fur, as I run my hand down his back, stopping at the small of his back, before  running my hand back up to his shoulder, and leaving it there.
"You're death is all I've ever wanted, since I began in this forever afterlife, and now I can look towards the future without my past dragging me back." I move forwards and grab his throat with one hand and pick him from where he fell after seeing corvins change.
"Corvin, my love, if you don't mind. Make sure it hurts." I say with venom lacing my words, it's all I've wanted for centuries. I wait patiently watching, as one by one, Corvin rips of limb, after limb, slowly. I could hear Dario's screams at the beginning, but all sound seems to drown out, until I'm in my own personal bubble of silence, violence and finally, death.
