Adria POV
10 PM here in New York and my sleep was bothered by the constant ringing of my phone.
"Hey there! Did I wake you?" Sapphira asked.
"Take a guess." I said sarcastically. "What do you need calling me up at this hour? I have an important meeting tomorrow."
"Gosh, why so grumpy?" she replied rolling her eyes and then continued. "I have a reason for you to go home."
"Home? I'm already at home."
"You know what I mean, Ria."
"Why the hell will I go home? I'm perfectly content here. The business is booming, great friends, nice house-"
"New boyfriend" she said, interrupting me.
"Where the hell did you get that news from? You know that's not true."
"I know. I was just waiting if you would slip up."
"As I was saying, give me a perfectly good reason to go home."
"I'm getting married!" she shouted happily.
"What?" I said, taken aback by her announcement. Suddenly, my mind and soul are awake.
"I said, I'm getting married!"
"OMG! I'm so happy for you. Congratulations! But-"
"Uh-uh. Stop right there. As you said, business is booming, leave it for a while. You have trustworthy employees, they can take care of that. Speaking of friends, how is Louis doing?"
"You know. The usual hyper self he is. He's asking about you guys, says when you guys will visit again."
"God, I miss him and you so much. Tell him to come with. I am sure I could squeeze him in the guest list."
"Alright, I'll tell him. Send me the details, okay? and I'll TRY to come."
"Okay, fine. I miss you and love you. Get some rest."
"Love you too." I said and hung up the phone.
I slept peacefully that night despite deciding if I should or shouldn't go. The cons of this are just, I'm a coward. I'm scared of facing or rather, revisiting my past. The past that I tried so hard to leave behind.
The next day, I woke up and got ready for the meeting. I met up with Louis for our daily coffee and asked for his advice.
"Hey, b!" I greeted him.
"I already ordered for you, take a sit."
As I was about to take a seat, the barista called for Louis name and before letting him stand up, I grabbed the order and put it on our table.
"Hey, I have great news." I told him.
"What is it?" he replied.
"Sapphira is getting married!"
"OMG? For real? I miss her and Kira so much. Why don't they live closer here?"
"I know, right? Anyways, she's telling me that you're invited. Says you should go there."
"Aww, I love how she remembered me. So, are you finally going back?"
"Yeah, I think. It still depends on the dates though."
Just when I sent that, my phone chimed.
YOU'RE INVITED!
Get ready for the wedding you've been waiting for.

nuptials of Vermont and Sapphira this June 10.Kindly RSVP as soon as possible.
Sapphira sent me that text with a message "Kira and I are so excited to see you, my maid of honor! By the way, come home for the engagement party first then let's all go to Hawaii together. Please... consider this my wedding present."
I replied with "Fine. See you in 3 days! Will be bringing Louis."
"Did you get the invite?" Louis asked me.
"Yep. Guess I'm coming home earlier, though. She wants me to go to the engagement party and you're coming with me."
"I don't think I have a choice. She also begged me to come to the engagement party."
"I guess that's decided then. I just booked us a flight. 10 AM sharp. Tomorrow. I want to surprise them. I just need to finish this meeting that I'm about to go to and clear my schedule for a month. I'm in need of a vacation either way."
"Alright. See you, B."
"See you." I said and went to my meeting.
After the meeting ended, I packed my things and got my passport. I think back to when we, me, Sapphira and Kira, were so inseparable that we know anything and everything about each other. Whether it may be boy problems, family problems, and even inner self problems. You know that kind of group where you get to be free to be yourself and none of them will judge you? Yeah, that's us. Sad thing is, after the Felix incident, we kind of drifted apart. God, I was so in love with him before and to see it end up like that was such a waste of my time.
If you're wondering, Kira is currently working as a high-class food taster. Every restaurant she goes to and recommends becomes packed after a day; on the other hand, every bad-rated restaurant automatically shuts down. Sapphira, besides getting married, is actually a successful author that also owns a restaurant. The restaurant she's throwing the party at is actually hers.
After a night full of remembering, I went to bed.
*The Next Day*
"Where the hell are you, Louis?" I screamed, talking to him on the phone.
"I'm almost there. Just give me" Suddenly, Louis popped in front of me panting. "Hi, I'm here. You're so damn impatient. I'm late for one minute. ONE whole minute. When your boyfriend does that, I'm pretty sure you don't complain."
"Who's the boyfriend you're talking about?" I asked, pretending to not know the answer.
"Duh... the one and only, Felix. By the way, are you ready to see him?"
"What makes you so sure that we will see him? I'm pretty sure he's busy doing business, and not the literal kind."
"Bitter alert! Bitter alert!" Louis said while laughing at me. "Let's go before we miss our flight."
After a 6 hour flight, we've reached my hometown.
"The sweet, sweet smell of home." I said sarcastically and Louis laughed.
"So where are we headed?" Louis asked.
"We are headed to Sapphiras house. Her sister said that she'll be home with Kira because of the last-minute fitting. Get ready to see a bridezilla."
"I'm tattling on you." he said and I laughed.
After a long drive, we arrived at Sapphiras house and I opened the door. A lot of people were inside and the noise was overbearing so I shouted: "Did you miss me?"
After I shouted that, a pair of eyes caught my attention. Felix was now staring at me and slowly walking towards me. I instantly froze and was about to turn around when Louis reached for my shoulder and kissed my cheek.
"Sorry, B."
A drop of a pin can be heard in the silence present at the moment.
"So, as I said, did you miss me?" I said laughing sarcastically and raising my eyebrow and looking at Sapphira and Kira.
