"Am I passing through your life? Tell me if it happened already."

"Omo... Are you jealous, little Hyeoky."

"No!"

Capt. Ri Jeong Hyeok can transform from a snappy bodyguard to a moody toddler within seconds whenever men are mentioned in the context of his Yoon Seri.

This brings Seri to sound like an adult talking to a sulky child, carefully choosing her words to explain a complicated situation. To appease her big baby, Seri excitedly brought up an idea to bunk off together and go to wherever their feet shall take them. This act of spontaneity was something totally new and liberating for the lady boss.

Without any agenda at hand, this sense of freedom has given Seri an exhilirating thrill. Something that even winning in every corporate battle was never able to give.

"Do you wanna watch a movie, Ri Jeong Hyeok-sshi?"

"Sure."

Ri Jeong Hyeok did not show his true excitement or else he might embarass himself. In the North, only state-run studios are allowed to produce films and they are mostly documentaries or movies with cultural themes.

So to be able to finally watch a "real movie" with a beautiful woman beside him, to say that he is excited is an understatement.

Like teenagers out on their first date, Seri and Jeong Hyeok went to catch a movie quite nervously that they forgot to grab a bucket of popcorn. So the two remained stiffly seated with an annoying armrest in between them like the '38th parallel' no one dared to cross.

Until Seri did the unthinkable.

She carefully lifted the armrest, wanting to set herself free of the restlessness that's been bothering her, likewise giving the same level of freedom to the man seated beside her. Ri Jeong Hyeok clearly was with Seri. Together, they pushed the barrier all the way up until it was gone.

Opening his palm, Ri Jeong Hyeok smiled and freely welcomed hers. With their warm hands clasped and couple rings united by touch, both finally sent their hearts to complete liberty and great abandon.

Ri Jeong Hyeok was, is and forever will be Seri's freedom.

All these years growing up in front of everyone's prying eyes -- watching her every step but waiting for her to fall -- this is the first time that Yoon Seri never cared about the world.

For the first time in her life, there is someone watching her every step not to judge her or pray for misfortune to befall on her.

Instead, that man will be watching her to protect her. To catch her smile, to love her, to allow her to grow, and to find real joy in life. He will watch her up close or even from afar. Whatever it takes. Because the love he has for her knows no borders.
