Moving and Escaping

Joker set his daughter down next to her sister. Both looked like little sleeping angels. He smiled behind his gas mask before walking to the other doors in the hallway. After kicking them all open, he found another girl behind one of them. She was slumped down by the window. He recognized her from the alley, she was the one who got shot.

A shot of rage went through his body, wishing he had been the one to slaughter whoever shot her. Picking her up, he carried her back to her sisters. Harley had stopped screaming, so he opened the door to find her passed out from the gas on the floor. By now the gas had gone down, so he removed the mask before carrying Harley out to the girls.

Straightening up again, he pulled out a radio and switched it on.

"Move in now. There's two girls loose on this island, if you find them bring them with us. And if you hurt either of them, I will rip your stomachs open and slice your dicks off."

Hearing an affirmative on the other end, Joker put it away and walked back into Harley's room. In the corner was a small bag he hid there that she didn't notice. Bringing it back to the still sleeping girls and woman, he took out four handcuffs. Going down the line, he cuffed each of their wrists behind their backs. Seeing that Harley was probably the most dangerous, he also blindfolded her.

Once his men finally arrived, he picked up Arleen. "Bring them to the boat. Treat them gently, they're my little angels."

Nodding, the two men moved forward in silence. Joker watched as one picked up Harley and the other picked up the other two girls. Twisting in his heel, the clown walked out of the house with his men behind him. Not too far away was a yacht he had stolen a few weeks ago and repainted dark purple. He started whistling happily, occasionally glancing around. He knew those two other girls were hiding. He had hoped to surprise them all, but two got away.

But he wasn't worried. They couldn't go far, it was just a matter of time.

Jester covered Pamela's mouth as they knelt under one of the concession stand counters. Pam clutched her robot doll to her chest, her body shaking. Jester didn't want to admit it, but fear gripped her heart also. They could hear people walking around, their shoes crunching in the dirt.

"Pammy, please stay quiet. Be quiet for your big sister." Jester whispered, hoping to comfort her sibling in a way. Pam whimpered, clutching her arm. Both girls were frozen, not willing to move. But Jester knew they couldn't stay there forever, or they'd be found easily.

They couldn't wait for their mom and sisters. They had to leave.

Slowly, Jester peered over the counter's edge and scanned the area. She knew where their boat was docked, and that was their only chance of getting away. Arleen said to protect Pamela, and they had to leave their home for her to do that.

"Pammy, you have to listen and do exactly what I say, okay? We're going to go to the dock, where our boat is. And we're going to go out to the city, okay?"

"B-but what about mommy and our sisters? Doesn't the bad man have them?"

"Yes, but we can't do anything against him now. We have to find Auntie Ivy, she'll help us. We're gonna save mommy and Lucy and Arleen and Ace, okay? But right now, you have to be quiet and stay with me."

Pam nodded and Jester carefully stood up, her sister practically glued to her side. Slowly, hunched over, they both snuck between booths and made their way to the edge of the island. Knowing they couldn't walk along the oceans edge in plain view, Jester kept to the abandoned booths and rides.

Finally, peering around the side of the bumper car ride, Jester could see the small dock, and sure enough, their boat was still tied to the edge. But she could still hear someone not too far away.

"Pam, we're going to run. Do not stop, and don't let go of my hand." Jester said, her sister's hand already latched onto hers.

Inhaling deeply, Jester counted to three before sprinting to the dock, Pam right next to her. It didn't take more than three seconds before Jester heard something.

"Hey! Hey kids, stop!"

But the girl kept going, focused only on getting to the boat. Pamela screamed when they heard a gunshot, the bullet hitting the sand a foot to their left.

"You idiot! Don't shoot them!"

"I'm just trying to get them to stop!"

The girls got to the dock and Jester practically shoved Pam into the boat, climbing in after her. She could hear running and yelling, but she kept her eyes down as she grappled for the keys. Her hands shook violently and she was hyperventilating as she shoved them into the ignition and turned it on. The yelling was getting closer, Pam curling into a ball...

Hearing the engine roar to life, Jester threw the lever into reverse. She held onto the dashboard as the boat took off backwards, out into the ocean. She barely saw the man try to jump into the boat only to crash into the water.

Swerving the boat forward, she did not stop until she saw the lights of the city. Coming to a quick stop, Jester grasped the dashboard once again, her breathing still erratic.

Pam looked up at her sister, her eyes widening. "Jes? What is it? Do you need your inhaler?"

The older girl's shaking hand fumbled with her pajama pants pocket until she pulled out a small red inhaler with rhinestones on the sides. Immediately taking two puffs, she inhaled deeply. After taking a few more deep breaths, she sat down fully in the seat.

"Mommy..." Pam whimpered, looking back at the faint outline of the island behind them.

Jester hugged her sister to her, trying to ignore her own anxiety and fear. "We'll be okay, Pammy. We'll be okay."

After a few more minutes of calming down, Jester slowly turned the boat back on and steered it towards Gotham City, the girls disappearing into the fog.

Enjoy!
