Lucy held Arleen's wrist to keep her from sliding off. The cops showed up right after they cleared the store, and they ducked into an alley a few buildings away.

She helped lean Arleen against the wall, lifting her arm in front of her. Arleen winced as her jacket was carefully pulled off. Blood completely covered her arm. Arleen almost screamed when she saw it, her eyes wide. Lucy took off her own jacket and tried to wipe the blood off the arm. "It's okay, A. It's okay." She said, needing the comfort just as much as her sister did. She never really paid attention when her mom talked about first aid, so she had no idea what she was doing. A bullet was lodged in her sisters arm, and neither or them had equipment to do anything except make a primitive bandage. Lucy wrapped Arleen's jacket around her arm and tied it tightly, hoping it would help a little. "We have to go home. If we go to a hospital, they'll want to know my name and my parent. Mom has some first aid back on the island." Arleen said, trying to stand up while clutching her arm. Lucy held onto her as she got to her feet, knocking against the drugs and toilet trees in their pockets. She realized that they never actually paid for their stuff.

They were about to go back out when they heard something. It sounded faint at first, but slowly grew louder. Lucy realized the voice was coming from behind them, and turned her head.

It was laughter. And it was coming from someone at the end of the alley. Lucy's stomach dropped when she realized that he was looking right at them, and was slowly walking forward. "What is it?" Arleen asked, trying to turn around. Lucy helped her turn around, and both of them saw him.

"What are two pretty little girls doing here alone?" He asked, still a good distance away. Lucy felt her back pocket for her knife and pulled it out. Arleen took a small step back, and Lucy felt her shaking. She tried to stand straight with her sisters arm still around her shoulders for support. "Stay away from us." She said, her voice shivering slightly. She heard him laugh again. "That's good. That's really good." He muttered, now twelve feet away from them. They could finally see what he looked like.

He had on a purple suit and chalk white skin. Blood red lips smiled at them, and they saw green hair.

He smiled at them, and fiddled with a gun in his hand. Lucy squeezed Arleen's arm, feeling her sister shaking. "Who are you?" She asked.

He looked at them in confusion for a second, before changing back to his original look. "I'm the Joker, sweethearts." He said.

Arleen and Lucy tilted their heads slightly. The Joker? Mom never told them about him. They knew Poison Ivy, Catwoman, Deadshot, and others, but they never heard of the Joker.

They still backed up a little as he got closer. "And who are you?" He asked. They looked at each other. "That's none of your business!" Arleen snapped. Joker looked shocked at the defiance, since normally people get so terrified when they see him that they're sobbing by now. Who were these girls?

Lucy heard a noise behind her, and turned around. Two guys were behind them, holding guns. She gasped and slowly went to the side, resting Arleen against the wall. "It looks like one of you had an accident. Aunt Flo come early?" The Joker asked, smirking. He was now five feet away, and could see their incredibly pale skin and vibrant hair colors. One of them had blue hair, and the other one had pink hair.

Arleen gasped when she saw the Joker step closer. Lucy stood in front of her sister like a wall, glaring at the clown. "If I might ask, where did you get your lovely complexions?" He asked. Lucy looked down at herself. "What do you mean? This is our natural skin color." She answered simply, not wanting to say anything more then necessary. They had to get out of there.

Joker walked to the side, never taking his eyes off the girls. "Impossible. That type of color doesn't happen naturally. I should know. It's a natural side effect of acid." He stated, enjoying the nervousness of them.
