Chapter 3 - Until game do us part

Weiwei was preoccupied the next day with her dreams and daydreams of Naihe. Her dorm sisters caught her lost in her own world more than once. They were worried about her. At 6pm sharp Weiwei logged into the game. For the first time, she felt her heart flutter in anticipation. 'This is silly', she thought, ' Why am I so affected by some gamer I barely know? But he was so romantic yesterday and he saw me for who I was.' While Weiwei was on her internal monologue, Nai noticed her log in and messaged her privately.

"The noble warrior Reed Weiwei, your presence warms my heart. I, your humble servant, await your presence at Instance Dungeon 3. "

Weiwei blushed prettily. Her dorm sisters wondered what was making her blush so. 'Damn Naihe and his silver tongue. My sisters will now want an explanation', worried Weiwei and responded " Your silver tongue will be my undoing dashen. I'll see you there."

Nai smiled broadly. Back in his dorm, his brothers stared at Nai. Banshan exclaimed, " Twice in one week, we've seen you smiling. This is more rare than the Halley's comet. What's up?"

Nai replied verbally, " You'll see. You are in for a surprise. Our clan is getting a powerful new member". They all started talking at once trying to ask Nai about the new member , when Weiwei arrived at the instance dungeon to see more than just Naihe there.

Houzi reacted first, " Are you the new addition to our clan. Are you under the mighty Naihe's spell, O Swordswoman?"

Banshan teased some more " I think it is the other way around. Our Naihe is enthralled by the swordswoman so much that he blesses us with her company"

Unsure of how to respond, refusing to succumb to their obvious teasing, Weiwei responded, "Hello fellow players! I could hardly turn down the top player's invitation to an instance dungeon. I am happy to meet his brothers as well. I'm Reed Weiwei. Call me Weiwei."

Nai decided to step in before his brothers teased her too much. " You are the one to talk. You are the mighty Weiwei that cast off her Bihai founder's token like it was yesterday's trash.Clearly, we pale in comparison". Hao Mei spat his tea and the rest exchanged looks. They had all heard about that incident and even laughed at Zhenshui's plight, after all she was a top player. Nai grabbed the bull by the horns and added, " Brothers meet Weiwei. She and I are forming an in-game marriage for the couple's tournament. I invited her to PK with us"

They asked Nai verbally, " What is going on Nai?" . He simply raised an eyebrow as if to say, 'what do you think?' and they all responded on the game simultaneously with "Well met sansao." Embarrassed, Weiwei responded," let's go kill some monsters", brandishing her double swords. The boys were very impressed with her skills and Weiwei for her part loved how they treated her as an equal and even made sure to include her in their banter. After they were done battling, they simply chatted sitting at the foot of the in-game mountain.

Hao Mei , " Sansao, how did you love birds meet?"

Weiwei was mortified, before she could respond, Nai jumped to her defense , " I found her after the Zhenshui debacle. After she put him in his place, I realized I could use a partner like that. Besides, the couple's tournament is starting soon. It will be a great way to advance in the game and do more quests". Weiwei was flattered that someone had defended her even without being asked.

Banshan: " Definitely his loss and our gain. Many people were praising you on the forum yesterday; there was even a recording of the moment, if anything it affected Zhenshui and Yaoyao more than you."

Weiwei: " I am not very active on those forums. Besides who cares what they think. It's not like I know any of them in real life"

Houzi: " Sansao is exactly like Nai. You really are well matched. So, when is the wedding?"

Nai responded, " Tomorrow. And you are all invited."

The next day Naihe and Reed Weiwei are wed in a majestic wedding ceremony attended by all the clan leaders and grander than anything seen before. Just as the ceremony was done, the game put Nai and Weiwei in a separate chat room and Nai quickly closed the chat room door before any of his friends could follow. He had taken every step to ensure privacy, he was in his off-campus apartment. Surprisingly , so had Weiwei. She was in her off campus apartment as well ( a first for her during the semester).

Nai: " Hi furen. It is nice to get a moment alone. How are you feeling?"

Weiwei: " I was touched by the attention you gave to the wedding ceremony Naihe". She had wondered for the first time what it would be like to really get married to him.

Nai: " It was nothing less than my lady deserved. You can lean on me you know. I get the feeling that you are used to taking care of yourself"

Weiwei wondered 'how had he realized that? She had no one to take care of her, at least no one she let in.So at a young age she had learned to rely on herself', " Your perceptiveness astonishes me , it feels like you are near me"

Nai: " Perhaps. Would my lady like to know? Do you know me so well already?", he challenged.

Not the one to back down, Weiwei responded " I can see through your ambiguous statements my lord, unlike your brothers. You are a comp sci student, a good one at that. Probably top of your class, judging by your strategy and logical skills. You live with your brothers, so you are probably still in college. Your brothers respect you and owe you. You hate the spotlight but are constantly in it. You act like nothing affects you, but you have a tender heart :) Am I right or am I right?"

Nai smiled, he had found a brilliant woman, he replied " A married man knows that his furen is always right. You my lady wife, occupy my tender heart.You are as courageous as you are kind . I am your unworthy servant"

Weiwei blushed, he could sweet talk her till she was all mush. A second thought occurred to Weiwei, Naihe never asked her anything about her. She had a sneaking suspicion that he knew exactly who she was. The question was, how? Hacking into the Dreams of Jianghu server was impossible, so that couldn't be . Naihe's avatar nudged her, " Furen's mind is elsewhere"

In knee-jerk fashion Weiwei replied, " It is occupied by you". Realizing the implications of the statement, she hastily added, "I think you are a student in my college as well, but not my class. I think you know who I am", and mentally added to herself ' I will find out who you are'

Naihe's avatar simply smiled at her and said, " My lady wife's brain is only matched by her beauty. Let's enjoy watching the stars in game and the full moon outside furen. Today is a day I shall never forget"
