Chapter 4- Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned

Note- I borrowed sections of this chapter from my other fanfic - Love 020: An alternate journey. I seem to have hit a creative block with that story. Not sure if I will be able to complete that, sorry :( But I have at least the next 10 chapters mapped out for this one.

The next morning, Weiwei woke up preoccupied by her dreams of Naihe from the night before and her brain swirling with possibilities, trying to figure out who Naihe was IRL. Her roommates noticed her state.

Er Xi: "You are so lost these days Weiwei. What is going on with you? Are you stressed?"

Xiaoling: "You vanished after classes yesterday and only came back at curfew. Is everything okay? What is going on with you?"

Weiwei replied absently, " I went home last night, needed some to take care of something personal"

Sisi exchanged looks with the others and they whispered quietly , " Home? To Wuhan? That's not possible. ( They had no idea that Weiwei had an off-campus apartment. They only knew of her hometown) I think she is stressed about exams"

Xiaoling, " This is something else. Maybe something to do with her family? She never talks about that. We can't push her, she will clam up. We just have to observe". Just as she was saying that, Er Xi screamed loudly startling everyone. "Why are you screaming?", they all asked at once.

Er Xi read from the campus gossip forum "Campus beauty queen and her taste for expensive cars, maybe company?" with the picture of Weiwei getting out of Mrs. Lee's car after tutoring her physically challenged son. "Wei Wei, look at this photo. They are insinuating...", she couldn't finish the sentence in her anger. Her other sisters were equally outraged.

Normally, Wei Wei ignored the horrid campus gossip forum, but this remark insinuated that she was her flaunting her beauty for money, cars and men. It made her see red. She fired up the laptop determined to hunt the source of the picture. Wei Wei was an accomplished hacker, a skill she kept under wraps. It took her all of 5 minutes to figure out that the photo had originated from Cao Guang. Wei Wei stalked into the seniors language classroom , just as their class ended with Er Xi and Xiaoling in tow. They closed the door shut. What Weiwei hadn't realized was that this class had seniors from all departments, not just foreign studies. So, her seniors from the Computer Department were also in attendance.

Wei Wei : "Cao Guang. Are you here?", she thundered as she stood on stage cutting an imposing figure in her all black attire- black skinny jeans, black AC/DC t-shirt and black boots. The entire senior class stared curiously at her.

Cao Guang: "Yes, beautiful, I'm here. Are you here to ask me out on a date? ", he laughed making light. Nai was shocked to see Weiwei, who was usually so calm with such a fierce expression. He realized that her avatar fit her to a tee.

Wei Wei: "Not even in your dreams you pervert. I am here to expand your world view". With that she took control of the projector, showed everyone the obnoxious post he had put up on the gossip blog, showed him pictures of Mrs. Lee's car, Ming Lee, the license plate and her tutoring permit from college. She had basically disproved his scandalous post on the gossip blog.

Weiwei continued, "You have your journalistic freedom to write whatever you want. But you also have a basic responsibility to verify facts before slandering someone's name."

Cao Guang, "How do I know that you have not altered these photos? A compsci major like you can do it easily", refusing to give up.

Xiao Nai felt an urge of protectiveness, but he wouldn't intervene unless necessary. His furen was more than capable, besides, she looked so sexy when her eyes flashed with anger.
