Two long years have passed after Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian went their separate ways. Those two years felt like two hundred years to Lan Wangji, waiting and waiting for his soulmate to finally come back to him. Suddenly he heard a familiar tune that only two people know Hanguang-jun... and Wei Wuxian. Wide-eyed Lan Wangji looked frantically everywhere looking for that one person. "Wei Ying," he said quietly under his breath "where are you..?" suddenly he heard the laugh that made him feel like everything was alright and he was safe. He spun around so quickly that he nearly got whiplashed. "Ahh... Lan Zhan, did you miss me that much?" Lan Wangji sprinted towards Wei Wuxian and engulfed him in his embrace. "Wei Ying..." he said quietly feeling his eyes being filled with tears. Wei Wuxian felt Lan Wangji tears and pulled away from the hug. "Lan Zhan, Lan Zhan, why are you crying? Did you miss me that much?" Wei Wuxian asked also with tears in his eyes, "mn.." Lan Wangji whispered while still crying. "Why don't we stop crying and catch up? Tell me how is A-yuan?" "He's good, he and Jin Ling have become extremely close, they even go night hunting without Jingyi." Lan Wangji said with a sigh as they sat down on a bolder. "Ah, Lan Zhan, do you think they'll become like us?" Wei Wuxian looked extremely happy when he said that, the thought of his adopted son and nephew becoming cultivation partners made him extremely happy. "mn... maybe."
After catching up for a couple of hours Hanguang-jun asked the questions he's been aching to ask. "Wei Ying, will you come back to live in Cloud Recesses with me?" He's never been so scared to ask a question since asking Wei Wuxian to become his cultivation partner. Wei Wuxian looked at him with absolute shock, "you want me to come live at Cloud Recesses with you?! With those 4,000 rules and your uncle?!" Lan Wangji looked down awaiting to be rejected, Wei Wuxian noticed the look on his face and smiled. "Ahhh, Lan Zhan don't look so down I'm not finished yet," Lan Wangji looked up with a look of hope. "If it wasn't you, I would've rejected it without even thinking but since it's the one and only Hanguang-jun I can't reject, many cultivators would kill to be able to live with you at Cloud Recesses." Wei Wuxian looked at him with a smile, Lan Wangji responded with a slight smile but to Wei Wuxian, it was more than enough. "shall we go now?"
