CHAPTER 2

Bright's POV

I am running late for the meeting today. They have recruited many doctors to the hospital as they are expanding. We have a meeting to introduce them.

I made to the meeting just 5 minutes prior. I sighed in relief as I walked towards my friends Earth and Film. .

I am a cardiac surgeon, Earth is a General surgeon and Film is a gynaecologist. We all went to same medical Collage. They are my best friends.

They smirked at me, seeing my disheveled self. I rolled my eyes.

I was trying to compose myself when the door opened and in came,

WIN??

I felt a small pain pass through my heart.

I took a deep breath and blinked rapidly. I shook my head to see if I was not hallucinating. 

No, it's really win. I am seeing him after 10 years. But here he is just as handsome as .... No, even more handsome than before.

No, I closed my eyes to clear my thoughts.

I opened my eyes again to look at I'm again.

Yes, I was surprised to see him. I looked at Earth and Film, I can see that they were looking as agitated as me.

I saw him going towards the HOD Ed.
They were talking but I was not listening anymore, I was nervous, anxious and angry.

I couldn’t take my eyes off him.

I heard him introduce himself but nothing really registered in my brain. I heard the word neuro surgeon. So, he is a neuro surgeon now.

Good for him. I thought.

Our eyes met and saw his eyes widen in surprise.
So, he is not aware that I am working here. I thought

We both stared at one another for few seconds before he averted his eyes as if nothing happened.

I saw his eyes traveling past me towards Earth and Film. But there were no more surprise in his eyes as if he expected them.

Win gave a big smile to all of us including me, Earth and Film and sat down on an empty chair.

I could here my female colleagues fawning over win.

"He is really handsome." Some one was telling, they were not even trying to be subtle.

I felt irritated for some reason.

The meeting went fine. They introduced some 7 new doctors including Win.

He sat their calm, composed and cheerful. He looked confident. I could see Earth and Film eyeing me and win with concern. I just smiled at them reassuringly.

Finally, The meeting is over. We all stood up to leave. I wanted to escape as soon as possible. I was getting angrier, by each passing minute.

"Earth, Film, Bright good to see you all again." Win said.

My head jerked up in surprise,  I never expected him to talk to us.

Head of our departments looked at us.

"We all went to same Collage. But me and Film was a year junior." Win said.

We all smiled.

"That's great. We will leave you to catch up then." They said and walked away.

It was only us four. There was an awkward silence for some time. Then win spoke.

"It's really nice to see you all. Hope to catch up some time soon." He said with a genuine smile.
