CHAPTER 9

Bright's POV

It was all a misunderstanding? It was a mistake from my end? But why didn't he tell so, why didn't he defend himself? I remember him trying...... trying to defend, trying to speak. I remember us not allowing him to speak.

I realized painfully; I didn't wanted to believe him, I was convinced that he cheated, I didn't even give him a chance to explain.

But why did Jewel??....JEWEL!!

I got up and ran out. Jewel's house is two blocks away from mine. I ran to her house. Earth and Film on my toes.
I was shivering because of anger by the time I reached there.

"JEWEL" I shouted.

Her mother came out and was surprised to see me in that state.

"Bright! What is the matter?" She asked.

"Sorry aunty but I need to speak to Jewel, Urgently." I told her trying to control my temper.

"Jewel" her mother called.

"Bright??, what a pleasant surprise." Jewel said coming to the living room.

"Why did you lie?" I asked her without any formalities, without any more delay.

"What? What are you talking. I am not..." I cut her off

"Why did you lie on that day??, why did you lie that win cheated on me with you. I guess this is elaborate enough to remind your brain."

I was trying my best not to strangle her, even before her reply.

Her eyes widened in shock. I saw her lips trembling in fear.

"Bri....Bright, I didn't lie. What are you talking about." She was visibly shivering, but still lying to my face.

I punched the wall beside her, looking straight into her eyes.

"These two spent their night on that very tree house on the wedding night. So, you mean to say that it was a foursome with you and win included." I screamed at her, sarcastically.

I saw her looking at Earth and Film and then at me with fear.

She opened and closed her mouth quite a few times. I waited patiently.

"Sorry Bright, I did it .... it because I liked... win." She said in a small voice.

"Great way to show it." I said sarcastically.

"Why didn't you pursue him afterwards if you liked him. You would have loved him deeply to sacrifice your self respect  like this. So tell me where is Win? How's he doing? I am sure you might have supported him after all these." I asked her in anger.

"I don't know. I didn't want to .... I was scared... I don't know..." she said looking ashamed.

I can't believe I never saw all these clues. I never thought about why Jewel and win never got together. Everything was in front of my eyes but I was too blind to see it. I was blinded due to my hatred.

I need to know the truth, the complete truth.

"Who? Who told you to do that? I know it is not your idea. So don't even think of any lies. I know you are not brave enough to carry out all those lies alone." I was ready to punch if she lied, but this time on her face.

I guess she understood that. She was trembling.

"Gigie" she said in a small voice her head bowed.

I waited for her to complete.

"Gigie loved ... loves you. She wanted to  ...... marry you. She wanted win ..... win out of her way. She asked for my help. I couldn’t deny. She is my friend and I thought I can have some fun too as he was very handsome." She told shamelessly.
