Emily slowly opened her eyes, the little ringing of her alarm clock pulling her little by little from the good night's sleep she had had. She pressed the little button above to stop the ringing and looked at the time on it. Nine o'clock in the morning. Not too bad, she thought. After all, she was off duty today, she could afford to get up later. But if she had taken these few days off, it wasn't to stay home. On the contrary, thanks to it, she hoped to be able to spend time with her dear Monsterman, whom she had not been able to see for several months now. Yep, because of his duty as monster lord, Mr. Lordi was very busy, and lately had been no exception to the rule. Tensions with humans did not abate, but in another sense, peace continued to be maintained regardless. Emily was thoughtful about it all, but she had no doubts about Mr. Lordi and her could be able to handle this situation. After all, they had to deal with a lot of critical situations in the past and each time, they succeeded to win.
Dressed in her white nightgown, Emily stood up and drew the curtains on her window to look out. A shy but clear sun had risen, lighting up the houses, the street and the sidewalks of the neighborhood, covered with snow. A few clouds were present, but not enough to risk obscuring the sun.
I still have time, she thought. She had the idea of coming at noon to Mr. Lordi's mansion to have lunch with him. She smiled and blushed softly just at the thought of seeing him and being with him again.
In a good mood, Emily headed into the bathroom to shower, get dressed and do her hair for the day. Her parents having left for their work, she was already alone in the house, but whatever, she knew how to manage.
After she finished dressing in a black Megadeth band t-shirt, Emily combed her hair red like fire. While doing this, her gaze rested for a moment on her reflection, and in particular what was around her neck. The sparkling ruby pendant, red as blood, in the shape of a heart and held by a small chain of pure silver. The very first gift Mr. Lordi gave her when she bonded with him for eternity several years ago in Lapland. This necklace, this symbol of the birth of their love ... Since that day, she had never taken it off, not even to sleep. She refused, wanting to keep it with her at all times, as if to always keep a part of Mr. Lordi with her even when he was away.
Very gently, Emily came to touch the hard surface of the ruby heart with the tips of her fingers. A slight pleasant shiver was felt. She could still feel that magic sleeping in that gem, that power that was born out of their love and was kept alive, not only in this pendant, but most of all in their hearts.
She huffed softly, as her hand tightened around her pendant. All his thoughts were on the Monsterman. They have been together for several years now. They had faced so many dangers together, but it had only strengthened their already great bond ... But deep inside, Emily was thinking of something that made her blush ... What if, after all these years , wasn't it time to cross a threshold in their relationship? She already knew that Mr. Lordi was the being she wanted to live with the rest of her life, so maybe it was time to celebrate that with an official ceremony?
Emily blushed even more at the thought, her face turning red. What would Mr. Lordi think of this? He would certainly agree, but was it the right time? May be. There was only one way to be sure anyway. Sooner or later, one or the other should take the first step.
A little later, Emily had come down to the kitchen, preparing her breakfast under the neutral gaze of her two cats, and while eating on the dining room table, had turned on her laptop in order to check her mails, and also take a quick tour on her social networks. She wished her monster friends could have accounts so she could talk to them, but they would be spotted right away by other humans.
For several months now, Emily had become friends on Facebook with a young French man named Mathias, who lived not far from Paris. Both had discovered common points in terms of musical tastes and geek, and had sympathized after some discussions. She had also spoken with him about monsters, and had been happy to find that Mathias had a rather open mind and had nothing against monsters. On the contrary, like many, he had learned what she and Lordi had done to save the world, and for that he was grateful to them.
