Across the world, giant prisms continued to create maelstroms that grew larger with the passing seconds. Colossal polar storms raged and devastated everything in their path, even managing to gradually freeze the oceans. Armies around the world found themselves confronted with endless hordes of mutant abominations that sprang from mass graves growing beneath prisms and spreading like murderous tides, killing all life in their path. Across the sky, the same sight of horror was happening to all the people of the earth. The first stars in the space vault were starting to die one by one.
In Oakville, Canada, Emily's parents had taken refuge in their basement, huddled together and hearing the madness and chaos occurring above. Their thoughts were on their daughter Emily, praying that she would be okay.
In Chartres, France, Ben and his autistic daughter Sarah had taken refuge, with other people, in the city's media library, contemplating with terror the madness that was taking hold of the city, but also the disappearance of the first stars in the night sky. Sarah kept fidgeting, rocking back and forth more and more nervously, holding her head and moaning.
_ "Sarah! Sarah, look at me ... I beg you, calm down!" Ben told her, taking her by the shoulders.
_ "Colder and colder ... darker and darker ... when the stars die, the primordial chaos will rise ..." Sarah repeated in torment.
She then looked up, screaming while holding her head, under the distraught and helpless gaze of her father.
***********
In Transylvania, the battle in the village continued, but had taken a turn very disadvantageous for humans and monsters. Faced with the even greater number of abominations arriving through the forest, the SRDO soldiers, although trained and strong, were being decimated one after the other, dismembered, devoured alive or torn to pieces by the enraged creatures. The first dead soldiers were even already beginning to undergo in their turn the aberrant mutations of the power of Ycnarr'Orveh, slowly coming back to life in inhuman groans. Thus, certain men saw themselves seized and killed by others who were before their comrades.
Ian Redfield had taken cover, panting, his face covered in sweat and blood that was not his, reloading his gun for the umpteenth time and firing all he could at enemies.
_ "Alpha! There are way too many! I don't know how long I'll be able to last!" Sigma indicated through his communicator in his ear.
Indeed, the old church was scaled by a few creatures, and Sigma, despite her sniping skills, had a hard time slowing them all down.
_ "Omega? Gamma? Does anyone receive me?!" Ian asked urgently, but the transmissions were completely saturated, impossible to receive an answer.
The monsters too, despite their power, began to have to retreat before the enemy. Ox and Amen finished killing an abomination together, their bodies covered in enemy blood, but also having suffered several blows. Ox kept turning his gaze to the circle of megaliths, worrying greatly for Awa.
_ "Ox! Watch out!" Amen suddenly warned.
An abomination leaped at the minotaur, hitting him like a rugby player, and the two slipped through the wall of an abandoned house. Ox began a fierce struggle with the thing that was trying to strangle and devour his head at the same time. Fortunately, Ian Redfield arrived, stabbing the creature in the back with his battle knife, and Amen finished it off by ripping off its head with his bare hands.
_ "Thanks guys ..." Ox growled, getting to his feet.
On the other fronts, unfortunately the same scenario was unfolding. Kita, Enary, Kalma, Otus, Mana, Magnum, G-Stealer, Omega, Gamma ... All fought with the energy of despair, each suffering from wounds, but continuing to recede while fighting the tides of horrors that submerged the village.
