Senior year was supposed to be the best time of my life. I knew I was different from everyone else, the shy, quiet nerd with only one friend, but we knew we would make the best of this year no matter what. I met Jaden freshman year at orientation, we were both lost and didn't know where the hell we were going. We joked around about being the only two people that didn't know where we were supposed to meet. We bonded that day when the jocks found us right outside the gym and we became their new targets.
I remember stopping in the middle of the hall on the way to the gym when I saw one student standing by himself. Jaden stopped right behind me and asked me what was wrong. I couldn't speak. The guy standing there was a little taller than myself with tanned skin and dark brown hair hanging in his eyes. When he looked up at us I locked eyes with his bright green ones and instantly blushed. He was the best looking guy I had ever seen. He smiled at me for a moment before he was surrounded by other students that we figured out were the jocks.
"Like what you are looking at Loser." The guy shot at me as his friends started to laugh. I hung my head down and shook my head no. I felt Jaden grab ahold of my arm and begin to pull me towards the gym, trying to walk around the guys in the hall. I was stopped by a hand on my other arm.
"What letting your boyfriend tell you what to do." He questioned me as I still tried not to look at him. Jaden pulled me out of his grip and we made our way into the gym. During orientation I figured out his name was Clyde Duncan, captain and quarterback of the school's football team. I knew than that he would never be my friend.
Clyde and the rest of the jocks made it their mission to make the rest of my high school life shitty. I even ended up skipping My sophomore year and went right to being a junior so now I was stuck in classes with them and a year younger. Which gave them something else to tease me about. I was thankful I had a couple classes with Jaden and we were still really good friends. We hung out every day after school and every weekend. We were best friends by the end of freshman year and I hope I never loose him.
"Lyndon, Hey are you with me?" I snapped my head to the side and saw Jaden staring at me. We were at lunch and I just had an awful time in my last class with Clyde. I wasn't sure if he was just playing with me or serious about the things he said before we got to leave the room. I knew deep down he was just playing with my emotions. He had to know what I thought of him after two years of being in the same school.
"Yeah I'm fine. Clyde was just messing with me again and it just really got to me." I told him as I took a bit of my pizza.
"What did he do this time?" He asked me.
"If I tell you everything you better not just say ignore him, alright? I know you always say that and I am trying. I want to get this year over with and be far away from him." I told Him and he just nodded his head so I went and told him everything.
Just as I was walking out of Math, thinking I was the last one like always, I was grabbed and spun around. I noticed it was Clyde and he shut the door before slowly pushing me back against it. I looked up into his Green eyes and quickly looked away. There was a different look in his eyes than I had ever seen before and it made me nervous.
"Why do you keep running away from me?" He asked and I quickly looked back up at him.
"Why wouldn't I. You have tormented me for the last two years with your friends" I snapped at him and looked down, afraid of what he might do to me after that. I felt a finger under my chin making me look back up at him. He just stared into my eyes and shook his head.
"I'm sorry for everything Lyndon. I really am." As soon as he said that I couldn't help but start to laugh. Was he fucking kidding me.
"Let me go Clyde. Right now." I said as I tried to get out from his grip. The door firmly behind me, him in front of me with a hand on my waist keeping me put.
"Wow I really fucked up didn't I." He asked out of no where. I pushed him when he was caught off guard making him stumble back, giving me enough room to open the door and run out. When I was done telling Jaden he was just looking at me.
"Wow what is he doing? Why would he say sorry to you for?" He questioned.
"I have no idea. But he just looked different. I can't explain it." I told him. He was looking around the room and than a small smile spread across his face.
"Well, He is staring at you and ignoring his friends right now." Jaden laughed making my head snap around and make eye contact with Clyde. He slowly smiled at me making me scowl in return. His smile dropped as did his head and I turned back around feeling weird.
"I don't get him. I really don't. What do I do?" I asked my friend.
"I think you should go with it. See what he wants and pay him back for all the shit he has done to us these last couple years. He needs to suffer. He's nothing but an ass and what, now he thinks he can be all nice, what about his friends. They won't stop their shit." Jaden was pissed. Clyde and his friends really put us through so much shit the last couple years. I thought Jaden was going to drop out last year but I talked him out of it.
"I guess I can see where this is leading to. I will go to the library by myself and see if he follows me there. see what he really wants." Jaden nodded his head as I stood up.
'He's getting up also. I will meet you at our house later and than tell me everything." He smiled as I turned to leave. I just didn't know what I was getting myself into. If I knew I wouldn't have agreed to this.
