I opened the curtains of my window letting the rays of sunlight in,
in a blink of an eye, my dark and gloomy room became bright and somewhat warm.

It's been a while since I last went out so I guess I'll visit Josh today.

It's been two months, ah? My life which was filled with happiness is now a mess.

Sitting in front of the mirror I looked at my face, all I see is a dull face with black eyes that held no emotions and my messy brown hair that reaches my waist, and my fair skin looks worn out.

I applied some tinted moisturizer and some mascara then tied my hair in a low bun.

Then, I went to my wardrobe and picked out a simple black netted dress and a pair of black high heels.
Before heading out I grabbed my car keys and phone.

As I was walking in the field of grass the cold air gently hits me while different flowers and trees accompany me, it sure is relaxing, I don't remember this place to be this beautiful.

As I walked further I saw a familiar place and started walking in that direction till I saw a familiar name. The New York City winters are so cold.

"Hey, Josh, how are you doing? I said placing a flower on his white grave that I picked on my way.

"it's been a while, huh?." I said with a hint of sadness.

"It's been two months, since you are gone, nothing feels right anymore... You've always had a rough life so be happy wherever you are." It feels odd to say "be happy" to a dead person I don't know if he can even hear me but I sincerely hope that he will be in a better place.

I was picking some fallen leaves on the gravestone when suddenly I heard my name.

"Sophie!" I looked back and saw Amy walking towards me.

"Hey, Amy." I said with a small smile.

"I didn't expect to see you here," Amy said with a smile.

"How are you and how is my niece is doing," I said placing my hand on Amy's stomach.

"We are fine but am I'm worried about you."

"Me, why I'm doing great."

"Don't lie, I know how hard it is for you, with Josh gone and Andrew..." She said and paused with a worried expression.

"I'm more worried about you, you're pregnant and even handling the company alone, do you need my help in anything."

"No, I'm fine, just take good care of yourself. Amy said looking sadly at Josh's gravestone. Amy and Josh were married for only two years I can't imagine the pain she's going through right now.

"Josh would have made a great father," Amy said looking at me with sorrowful eyes.

"He sure would have, I never thought he would die this young," I said holding her hand.

"Amy, don't you blame me?"

"For what?" She said with a confused look.

"About Andrew, if I didn't want to marry him maybe this could have been avoided," I said feeling guilty and deep regret.

"Oh, come on Sophie, it's not your fault stop blaming yourself, we don't know what the future holds for us so we can't truly avoid anything. "

"I know but... I'm sorry." I said from the bottom of my heart.

"Stop it, it's not your fault." She said wiping my tears, I didn't realize I was crying, Amy is truly a beautiful person from inside and outside, I feel glad that I still have her by my side after what happened.
