Chapter 3: Visiting Megan.

My thoughts were interrupted when Paul knocked on my bedroom door.

"Paul, you can come in."

"Sophie, something bad happened." He said looking seriously.

"What happened." I asked him blankly.

"Megan attempted suicide." He said in a serious tone.

"WHAT!!!" I screamed with wide eyes.

"Yes."

"Oh my god."

"Do you think we need to visit her?"

"I don't think Andrew's dad would like to see me." I said to him.

"But Sophie don't you think it's fishy."

"What is?" I asked him but deep down I know what he meant.

"That Megan accused Josh of sexual assault like come on we all know that can't be true."

"I know but Andrew went to jail and the case has been closed, we can't do anything about it."

"Yeah, but don't you think we're missing something?" He said raising his eyebrows.

"You mean...Megan?" I said curiously.

"We only know what Megan has been telling, we don't know the whole story." Paul said.

"But it feels so wrong to doubt her, I've known her for so many years." I said looking at him.

"But Josh lost his life and his reputation is ruined and the company is in chaos, we can't let Josh die an injustice death." He said looking dead serious.

Yes, Paul's right, and I always knew we were missing something but I was alone and thought no matter what Josh is never going to come back and ignored it.
But now that I think about it I can't let him die an injustice death.

"Paul, let's go meet her." I said to him getting up from my bed.

Right now I'm standing in front of a big white door of a hospital room.

" Sophie, I'll wait outside, you go and meet her," Paul said.

"Fine." I said blankly.

When I touched the doorknob it sent shivers to me of how cold it was," I hope this is going to be smooth." I said to myself as I went inside.

As I entered the room I saw Megan, she has black hair just like Andrew and she seemed paler than usual, first she didn't notice me right away she was reading a book in her bed.

"Oh... Sophie? " she said noticing me.

"Hey, Megan, how are you doing?" God, why am I feeling so cold and anxious?

"I don't want to meet you right now." She said bitterness evident in her voice.

"I feel the same way, Megan." I said calmly.

"You... Why did you came then?" She asked me stunned.

"I wanted to ask you something."

"What." She asked coldly.

"I'm so sorry for what happened, but can you tell me what happened that day?" I said in a gentle tone.

"What do you mean?" She said tucking her hair behind her ear.

"You said right, that... Josh sexually assaulted you, can you tell me what clearly happened?" Is it too soon to ask?

"I don't want to talk about it." She said in a low tone.
