"Welcome to the final game. Before we begin, we'll flip a coin to decide who plays offends or defence."

Since there were three of us there would obviously be teams and we had already decided them.

"Please choose a shape. Triangle or square."

Gi-hun stared Sang-woo dead in the eyes, "Triangle."

Sang-woo's intense stare flickered to me for a few seconds making me tense.

Gi-hun noticed and gently squeezed my hand.

The guard flipped the coin and it landed on triangle.

"Please choose either offence or defence."

"Offence."

The guards pushed open the door and it opened with a loud creak.

We followed the guard into the room.

I noticed the huge doll on the other side of the room.

This is the room where we played the first game.

It will end in the place it all began...

"For the final game, you'll both be playing Squid Game."

I noticed the chalk on the ground.

"Let me explain the rules. One, the attacker must enter the squid shape court, run past the defence, and then tap the area inside the squid's head with his/her foot to secure the game. Two, the defender must block the attack's advance and force them outside of the court's bounds in order to win. Three, if a situation arises, in which any player is unable to continue playing the game, the last one standing will be the winner."

My body was shaking slightly.

I was terrified of course I was.

For now, I needed to try and forget my fear of Sang-woo.

Gi-hun has to live.

Gi-hun bent down to tie his shoelaces and also grabbed some sand while Sang-woo wasn't paying attention.

He stood up and slightly moved his hand behind his back.

No words were exchanged.

The last time I spoke was last night... before.... That happened.

The game begun.

We both went to different sides.

I hopped on my good leg.

Sang-woo glanced at both of us before deciding to face Gi-hun.

"We always used to play this as kids.." Gi-hun spoke.

Sang-woo stayed silent and pointed his knife at him.

"Do you remember what we used to call it?"

"Shut up."

Gi-hun took this opportunity to throw the sand in his face.

Sang-woo coughed and spluttered while blinking repeatedly.

We both took this chance to walk across.

"Inspector royal." Gi-hun stated.

Rain started to fall.

I looked up and remembered this room had an optional ceiling.

There was a rumble of thunder.

The rain had soaked us through in an instant.

I shivered from the cold.

Gi-hun and Sang-woo stood opposite each other.

"I put an end to her suffering. You know she would have died anyway."

I tensed up and began to feel sick.

Sang-woo turned to glance at me as I was stood behind him.

"Gi-hun. Go now!" I yelled.

Gi-hun looked hesitant but complied and started to run.

Sang-woo was about to go after him but I grabbed his arm tightly.

He smirked when he saw I was trembling slightly.

We threw a few punches until he managed to knock me over because of my injured leg.

I inwardly cursed and looked to see Gi-hun more than halfway there.

My thoughts were broke when I felt excruciating pain coming from my other leg.

There was a knife stabbed into my legs as blood oozed out.

Sang-woo smirked at me.

I let out a scream that make Gi-hun freeze.

No.

My eyes widened as Gi-hun turned and ran towards us.

What was he doing?

He needs to get out of here.

I watched as they both started fighting to kill each other.

One of them will die so I need to win quickly so Gi-hun isn't the one who's dead.

I pulled myself up slowly.

Somehow, I ignored the pain in my leg and proceeded to the head of the squid in a snail pace.

I was almost there.

I didn't dare glance back at the fight.

I couldn't bare to watch.

My legs almost gave way a few times but I pushed myself forward.

I glanced back as I made it to the head of the squid.

Gi-hun was on Sang-woo with a knife.

He dropped the knife.

He couldn't do it.

They exchanged some words and Sang-woo smirked before stabbing himself in the neck.

I froze.

What the hell just happened?

Gi-hun sobbed.

Then, he turned his attention to me and started limping over.

My legs gave way and I came crashing to the ground.

A pool of blood surrounded me.

Gi-hun reached me and fell to his knees.

We held each other wordlessly.

"Player 218, eliminated."

Gi-hun pressed his forehead against mine.

"Thank God. We survived." He sighed.

Tears ran down my cheeks, "It's over... finally."

Gi-hun pressed his lips to mine in a passionate kiss.

It took my breath away.

We parted and he smiled.

His smile was contagious.

"I love you."

"I love you too."

A/n I didn't want the last chapter to be long and dragged out so it's super short. The end ig. The chapter before this was hard to write and rereading it is too hard because I poured my soul into it lol. I was in a depressed state for a few days after writing it but I've mostly recovered.
