It had been a few weeks since Ayame and Roy confessed their love for each other and nothing was going to change that. Right now they were on patrol for more ishvalans that might be hiding, Roy had hoped that she wouldn't be allowed to use her blood water alchemy but the führer told her to use it at all cost. He was angry at Kimble for making her use her blood alchemy, the thing that haunts her, but he couldn't do anything about it. He was just relieved that she would be staying with him since she was more cooperative under him so the Führer allowed her to stay with him.
They split up to cover more ground, as Roy was walking along he heard some rocks move and turned to the noise with his hand up. He looked around for a minute before letting his hand down and continued walking. Then an ishvalan appeared behind a wall and shot at Roy, hitting him in the chest.
Roy: Ah!
Roy fell to the ground clutching his wound, it was like when he saw Heathcliff only this time the watch didn't protect him. The Ishvalan walked up to him and aimed his gun. The look he had was fear, the gun was shaking and he was trembling. He raised his gun at Roy about to shoot when he was shot in the head. As he fell to the ground Roy looked at where the shot came from and saw Ayame with a gun in her hand. She looked determined and focused, he only saw that when she's training. He groaned in pain as he tried to stop the bleeding, Ayame ran to him and dragged him to a nearby wall. She leaned him against it and started to undo his clothes. Roy tried to joke about it.
Roy: Come on Aya, this is hardly the time for that. (Groans) Ow.
Ayame: Don't talk like that. It's not the time.
After Ayame unbuttoned his shirt, she saw the wound. Sure enough the bullet was still in there.
Ayame: Well good news is that your gonna be okay, the bad news is that the bullet didn't come out.
Roy: (gritting his teeth) That doesn't belong there.
Ayame: Nope. Okay, Roy?
Roy looked at her with sweat going down his beet red face.
Roy: Yeah?
Ayame: This is going to hurt, allot.
Roy: (Chuckles) Promises promises.
Ayame nodded and backed up then did hand jesters. Roy thought she was trying to us earth bending but knew metal was impossible for earth Benders. But he was proven wrong when the bullet started moving and he started groaning in pain. When the bullet got ripped out of Roy's chest he held back a scream of pain and let out groans.
Ayame tossed away the bullet and went to Roy who was clutching him wound, which was bleeding out fast. His breathe started getting ragged and he was sweating bullets. They tried stopping the bleeding but couldn't, Ayame started to panic a bit and hyperventilate but Roy calmed her down by holding her hand and said.
Roy: (weakly) It's okay, I'm fine. We just got to stop the bleeding, okay. And when did you learn that?
Ayame: (nods) Okay, I'm gonna use some water to clean it up. And you weren't the only one training when we were apart.
Ayame took out her canteen and started to water bend. Roy slipped off his shirt to make more room so the water doesn't get soaked in by his shirt. Ayame started moving it closer to the wound until it was touching, she then noticed that the water started to glow. Roy looked at it shocked to see it glowing and asked.
Roy: Is this you?
Ayame: Uh, I guess?
After awhile the glowing stopped and she moved the water back into the canteen to reveal the wound completely healed. They looked at it, shocked. Ayame looked at her hands and whispered to herself.
