"Coming!!" You yell, quickly running to your flat door, to be greeted by Perrie, holding two Waitrose carrier bags clinking with the sound of alcohol containing them. "Hey girl!!" You say, pulling her in for a hug, making sure your rollers in your hair don't catch her jumper. "Just put the drinks on the side, have you got your dress?" "Of course!!" She says, following you upstairs to your bedroom. Each of the girls are dressing as different coloured cowgirls for Leigh-Anne's birthday, and you couldn't wait. You were halfway through your makeup when Perrie arrived, so as she began hers, you finished yours. Not long after, both of you are ready to leave. You place your pink cowboy hat ontop of your beautifully blonde curled hair, which matches your dress perfectly. Passing Perrie her baby blue cowboy hat which matched her dress, both of you headed to your Range Rover. The drive to the location is short, meaning it wasn't long before you arrive at the venue.
Paparazzi hustle outside behind the barriers either side of the short red carpet placed in front of the entrance. Doubling checking the car is locked, you both walk inside accompanied by the bouncer, to be greeted by a familiar face. "Mason?" You say, puzzled as to why he is here. "Taylor!" He pulls you into a hug, before being pulled back by somebody. "Hey girl!" Leigh Anne smiles, kissing both of your cheeks. "Happy Birthday!!" Perrie replies, returning the gesture. "You look gorgeous!" You add, eyeing up the short emerald dress along with the matching cowboy hat. "So do you, Tay!" She exclaims, hoping you could hear her over the loud music. "I see you've found my little surprise..." she winks at Mason, who is awkwardly stood watching the conversation unfold. "You invited him?" You ask, a little shocked. "Of course! I knew you had no balls so, I did it for you, plus, everybody's gonna be getting wasted so you needed someone to keep you company." "So that's why your so bubbly then, Leigh." Perrie giggles. "I may or may not be slightly tipsy." She replies, "not nearly as bad as her." Your eye line is directed to Jade, stumbling over to the group. "Is it bad to say I'm not entirely surprised?" You chuckle. Her orange dress and matching cowboy hat perfects the group costume. "Alright ladies? Mason." Mason nods, a little unsure of how to deal with Jade. "Right, I'm going to find Alex, come on Jade." Practically dragging her, Perrie manages to bring Jade along to find her boyfriend. "I'm going over to Andre, let me know if you need anything." Leigh says, before leaving you alone with mason.
"You look amazing." He begins, attempting to make some light conversation. "Thank you." You reply. "Do you want a drink?" "Yeah but-" "0% alcohol I know." He laughs a little. "You remember?" "Of course! The day we met at the Rooftop bar, I felt like an idiot asking you if you wanted a drink and then you saying your a non-alcoholic." "Your so cute Mr Mount, you know that?" Wrapping your arms around his neck, the corners of your mouth curve into a smile. "I try," he smiles back, relaxing his shoulders." 5,6,7,8 by Steps kicks off the dance party, sending people rushing to the dance floor. "Come on Mase!" You shout, dragging his arm before realising your not getting anywhere. "Ohhh no, I don't think so." He replies, laughing. "Why!" "I don't dance Tay." "Not even with me?"  "Not even with you." "Fine," you say flipping your hair and turning your back to him, "there's plenty of other guys on the dance floor..." Smirking, you make your way to the dance floor, before being not so surprisingly greeted by two hands wrapping around your waist from behind. "Thought you didn't dance, Mason." "Yeah, yeah, whatever." He answers, following you to the floor.
Hours fly by, before all the guests have left, and it's just you, the girls, and their boyfriends. "So," Jade begins. "Oh no." Perrie warns the group, slightly uneasy as to what Jade might come out with. "When are you wifing this one up mason, we've all got boyfriends and Taylor's the only one left-" "Jade!" Leigh-Anne interrupts catching on to the embarrassment written across Mason's face. "What?" She continues, "we all know what happened with Nick." The room falls silent, as everyone looks at you. Tears begin to fill your eyes, attempting to play it off, you shuffle outside. "It's a little hot in here...I'm gonna uhm...get some fresh air." Not long after your out, familiar footsteps make their way towards you. "Are you alright?" Mason asks, wrapping his arm around your shoulder, trying to keep you warm from the crisp night air. "Yeah." You sniffle, eyes angled to the ground. "Who's Nick, Tay?" He questions, softly, making sure you knew you were safe. "He's just my ex-boyfriend, and before you start, he wasn't abusive. In fact he was much the opposite. We were together for a long time. 4 years, we met at school. We were even thinking about getting married but, one day he just. Disappeared. Everything was gone, his family home went up for sale, his phone number was dead, all his social media's gone. The only thing I had left was the photo on my bedside. He just went, and without any warning. I don't want this to make you feel like I'm not ready for a another relationship, because I am. That was coming up to two years ago now and I haven't been with anyone since. I just...don't think you can ever really get over the shock of anything like that. But I really like you Mason, a lot. And I don't want this to ruin what we've got going." "Why have you never told me any of this before?" "I was scared you would do the same thing." I would ne-" "I know you wouldn't, but it's always there, in the back of my mind. I know it's stupid." "Taylor, it's not stupid, it's sad you went through something like that and I'm so sorry." "It's not your fault, and besides, fate brought you here to fix me." You smile, as he smiles back. His eyes. They were so pretty, you never noticed that before. "I like your eyes." Brown, so simple, yet intriguing. "I like your eyes." He returns, staring deep into your dark blue eyes. "I like you, Mason Mount." "I like you Taylor Reardon."
