After Mason's sickness bug didn't go away, you decided to take him back to the doctors for another check up. When the result came, it showed all four of his wisdom teeth are infected. This morning is the day of his dental appointment, where he's going to get them removed. "Mase!" You shout from the bathroom, spitting out your toothpaste. The door clicks and Mason enters wrapping his arms around your waist from behind and digging his face into your neck. "I don't wanna go," he muffles into your skin, as you brush through your eyelash extensions. "Mason, stop being a baby, you'll be fine! I've had all mine removed," you reply, triggering a flashback of when your wisdom teeth grew forwards into your other teeth, instead of downwards meaning you had to get them all taken out at seventeen. Turning around to face him, you gently cup your hands around his face, careful not to hurt him. "Mase, you've not been eating properly, your losing weight, you can't carry on like this if you want to keep playing football," you reassure him, planting a soft kiss on his lips. "Mkay..." he replies, quietly.
The car horn from outside signals that Tony and Debbie, Masons parents, are here to pick you both up and drive you to the dentist. Leaving the house, you hold Masons hand and get into the back of the car. "Are you nervous mason?" Debbie asks, turning down the radio so she could hear him answer, even though he doesn't, he just stares out of the window. "Mase?" You say, trying to snap him out of his trance. "Mmh?" He says, turning his head to face you. "Yes, he's been very nervous." You answer for him, hoping to make Debbie feel a little better after being ignored. "We're here," Tony says, pulling up the handbrake and turning off the ignition. "What, at the dentist?" Mason asks. "No, the car boot sale, of course it's the dentist!" Debbie replies, earning a giggle from you as she unbuckles her seatbelt. After Tony and Debbie leave the car, you stay behind with Mason. "You'll be fine, okay babe?" "Yeah..." he answers, staring off into space. You kiss him gently, hoping to bring him back into reality. "I promise." You add. He smiles, before getting out of the car and you following.
The process was boring, you couldn't stay with Mason so you all had to wait in the waiting room until the dentist had finished. After half an hour, he was done, and was walking over to you accompanied by the nurse. "I can't feel my face babe!" He shouts, earning a few looks from the others in the waiting room, but a giggle from you and his parents. "Here's some salt wash he needs to use every morning and night until he is completely healed after he brushes his teeth," the nurse instructs, "he should just gargle it and make sure not to swallow it." She switches between you all as to who she is going to pass it to, but after a signal from Debbie, the nurse passes it into your hands. "He'll still be a little goofy pretty much for the rest of the day, but the anaesthesia should wear off along with the numbing by tomorrow morning, if by any chance it doesn't make sure to call us and we can check him out." She adds, before leaving. "Can we go five guys?" Mason asks, eagerly, giving his mum puppy eyes. "Come on, love." She says, helping him to the car. "I just want a burger."
Mason comes out with many weird and wonderful things in the car, the fact his dentists were GOATS and how he was confident he still looks as good as ever, but somehow this made you even more attracted to him. "These are my teeth!!" He says, shaking the tub violently in your face. "You should put them on eBay." You say, moving his muscular arm out of your face. "Yeah, people will pay big money for these bad boys." It falls silent for a minute. Peace. But it isn't long before mason begins his conversations. "I'm like half human, half great-white." You giggle, and he does too, showing off the cotton stuffed to the back of his mouth and his bloody lips. "Are you sure they didn't put Botox in my lips? He asks taking out his phone and flashing a pout down his camera lens. "No, I'm pretty sure they only took out your teeth." Debbie says. "And one or two brain cells by the sound of it." Tony adds, focusing on the road. "But there massive," mason continues. "They're just swollen, Mase." You say. "Give me a kiss," he says, leaning in and goofily pouting in your face. "I think I'll pass." You smile. "But why...?" He whines , genuinely looking like he's about to cry. "Your all bloody babe," you say, feeling kind of sorry for him. "I'll give you a kiss on the cheek look," you say leaning for his cheek, as Mason swerves last minute catching you on the lips. "Ew Mason!!" Wiping your lips clean, Tony pulls up at your house. "Good luck with him," Debbie says, as you manage to drag Mason out of the car. "Thanks, I'll need it." You say. After your goodbyes, Tony drives off, leaving you and Mason alone. "Big T, he's driving a spaceship!" He shouts, pointing at the car as it turns the corner at the end of the street. You sigh, "oh it's gonna be a long night."
