After the quick delete of your instagram post at the Ballon d'Or upon recognition that you just announced your relationship to the public, you were happy to find out that it wasn't in the news or on social media, meaning nobody at all had seen it. For once you felt glad that you had ran out of mobile data, as the post hadn't been shared to everyone, resulting in yours and Mason's relationship remaining private for a little while longer.
Tonight was a late game at Vicarage Road, meaning you had spent the morning with Mason. But after a long unexpected sleep in, the both of you couldn't spend much time together before he had to travel to The Bridge to catch the team bus, leaving you alone. You knew tonight was going to be a difficult game, and a lot of pressure was being put on the team to get the three points and stay at the top, with Man City and Liverpool placing uncomfortably close underneath. After a couple of zoom calls with Helen and the girls, you decided you should get ready ahead of the hour and a half drive you had to face. Normally you would pass on away games, Mase knew you had your job aswell and he thought it more important that you made it to the home games, but he made it clear he wanted you to be at this one. You never really make much effort when going to his games, you wear makeup nearly all the time for press or performances, so you find football to be a nice way of toning it down a little, and giving your skin a break. That being said, you do feel more confident after the concealing of your spots, and a little cream blush added to your cheeks. After filling in your brows and combing through your lash extensions, you head over to the wardrobe. The choice between the two shirts was obvious - the blue - but your heard did sink at the thought of Mason buying you the "Mount 19" in the black and yellow, and you not wearing it yet, but you knew the Watford colours were the same as the Chelsea away kit, meaning it was only fair to wear the familiar blue. Tucking it into your favourite pear of tight jeans and completing it with your converse, you curl your hair before grabbing a coat and making your way to your range rover. The blue lights switch on as the ignition starts, and you make your way to The Vic, the long drive ahead of you.
For once it was nice to actually arrive the same time as the other fans, normally your at the bridge early for Mason, and you didn't have to hide away in the toilets. You messaged Leigh-Anne who met you at the gate, dressed in the Watford shirt with "Gray 18" on the back. "Hey girl!" She pulls you in for a hug, the slight catch on to your nerves being obvious, as she doesn't leave your side. "The box is this way, unless you want to sit in the stands?" She asks, hoping to make you feel more comfortable. "Well what do you do normally?" You ask, not wanting to be a burden. "Well i normally sit in the stands, but if it makes you feel any better, we can go to the box." You knew sitting in the Watford stand would be a blow for Mason, and so would sitting in their box, but either way you didn't want to leave Leigh, the only person who's made you feel comfortable upon arrival. It took you a long time to make your decision, which became evident to Leigh-Anne, as she pushed you towards the Chelsea end and decided to sit that side with you. "Are you sure?" You ask Leigh. "Positive, i sit in the box every game, and besides, Andre isn't starting, anndddd, your new boyfriend won't want to see you at the other end so early on would he." She nudges you, teasing you about your newfound relationship. "Shut up Leigh, people can't know, and anyway he wouldn't break up with me over that, would he?" You reply, walking to your seat. "Oh please, you nearly shared your whole relationship over instagram the other day!" She begins, mocking your almost tragic accident you made earlier on in the week, "and besides, he totally loves you Tay, blue or not." You smile, before the roar of Chelsea fans distracts you from the conversation, as you applaud the team out. Leigh-Anne could obviously stand and cheer too, as both teams come out at the same time, but how this was going to pan out over the rest of the game was a mystery.
The start of the game is normal, with not much happening. Almost as quickly as the game started, it is stopped allowing a fan receive medical treatment in the stands. The players headed inside, with Mason taking this chance to try and find you. He's unsuccessful, but it's half an hour later when the players return, and begin their five minute warm up. The game resumes with a goal from Watford, and the hornets fans jump for joy; you can hear Leigh do a slight cheer, attempting not to have much attention drawn towards her from the blues fans. A little while after Havertz is passed the ball, and looks like he is going to shoot, before making the decisions to pass to Mason who pounds it into the bottom left corner of the net. "YESSSS!! OMG!!!" You jump for joy, with Leigh only standing and clapping out of happiness for you and Mason. "I can't believe he scored!" You say sitting back down. "I'm happy for him," Leigh replies, pulling her fur-lined leather jacket over her shoulders where it had fallen off. Mase runs over to the Chelsea supporters, hitting and kissing the badge on his shirt. The first half ends 1-1, as the fans make their way the the bars and food stands. Not long after, the Chelsea and Watford head out, both eager to score the winner in the last 45 minutes. Both teams had fair attempts, but Chelsea managed to steal a point by an assist from Mase allowing Ziyech to tap it into the net. The 90 minutes ends with 5 minutes extra time. It's announced that the Man Of The Match is Mason, and you couldn't be prouder of your man. At the end of the match Leigh-Anne takes you towards the tunnel using her pass, so you could see Mason. "I can't thank you enough for everything you have done for me today Leigh honestly, i'm so sorry about the score." You say, pulling her into a hug. "Don't worry about it Tay, that's football. And i can guarantee that you would have done exactly the same for me if the match was played at Stamford." She replies, pulling away and holding your shoulders. Smiling, you move aside as the Watford players walk up the tunnel, and Leigh-Anne comforts André on the loss. "He's just doing an interview, he should be back in a few minutes," he tells you, before heading into the changing rooms, leaving you and Leigh-Anne alone again. Five minutes later Mason walks up the tunnel alone, a smile appearing on his face as he sees you at the end of the tunnel. You go to speak to him, instead he wraps his arms around you and kisses you hard on the lips. "I'm so proud," you say against his lips, an you can feel the heat radiating off his cheeks. "Go get changed," pushing the sweaty hair out of his face you begin your sentence, "i'll meet you at home."
You say goodbye to Leigh-Anne and make your own way home, you could have took Mason with you, but you thought he should spend time with his teammates on the bus, and besides, his car was at Stamford anyway.
Your not in your own long at home, before Mason arrives home. Throwing his bags on the floor he walks straight over to you, lifting you up as you wrap your legs around his waist. "I've been waiting for this," He says, as you lean in to steal a kiss. You giggle against his lips, and rest your forehead against his. "i could stay like this forever," you whisper. "me too." Mason replies. "What do you want to eat?" you ask Mason. "Anything," he says, adding the Man of the Match trophy to the shelf. After making the pasta, you take a seat in the living room, as you not watch Netflix and cuddle, making the most of the perfect evening.
