𝐅𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬+𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 - 𝐊𝐢𝐥𝐨 𝐊𝐢𝐬𝐡

You sat at the table , just stuffing your mouth full of food because your mom was just such an excellent cook.

"So N/n  how was your day?"

"Nothing too crazy . Working as always but today's bike ride home was nice, it's been a long while since I took my bike to school."

"Maybe we should let you take your bike to school more right, honey." your mom said waiting for your father's response which was only a low hum of agreement.

You carried on eating your food in a tense manner since the air had very soon become awkwardly unbearable.

"So J how was soccer practice." your dad spoke out suddenly.

"It was okay. I have a match on Friday and I'm on the A Team."

"That's my boy" he exclaimed.

Your parents had a certain trait of becoming more excited when your brother did better than you did. Its been like that since he was born.

"Y/n look at your brother isn't he amazing."

"N/n see how well your brother is doing."

And this didn't stop at your parents either. When you both went to the same school you were never Y/n L/n you were " Jerome's elder sister."

(Guys for the book's sake pretend Karasuno has a junior high and a primary school.)

"Your brother is amazing L/n."

"Oh wow I never knew J had an older sister. I never heard about her."

That's why you begged your parents to move schools so desperately. You never hated being at Karasuno, you had friends, you excelled at school but excelling is different when there are actually people to acknowledge it, to congratulate you and celebrate with you.

Moving to Seijoh was a breath of fresh air because your reputation at school wasn't joint to your brother in any sort of way.

The students of Aoba Johsai actually saw you as a whole, not as the irrelevant shadow of your oh-so wonderful brother.

It allowed you to finally be real with yourself and relax more instead of trying to outdo your sibling in everything. And even if you did outdo him your parents wouldn't care.

You were never rewarded for your successes , they were just expected of you as a chore.

"Dad, I got 85% in my math test."

"Get 90% next time."

"Ma, I was top student for the fifth time at school."

"Keep that up."

And considering that is how they reacted to your academic marks you could just bet they didn't even give a damn about your extra-murals and hobbies. Only once have they ever showed up to one of your public speaking competitions.

But now you paid no mind it. The feeling of disappointed has met your heart one too many times and soon enough you had made peace with it. Disappointment was the reality that was never going to change, not even once you went to college and to be fully honest , you thought it was an advantage.

They wouldn't be running after you and trying to keep you in line, all their attention would be on J  so you would be able to run wild while not under their watchful and observant eyes.

You had finished up dinner , washed up your plate and went upstairs after that long train of thought and retired to your bedroom to start the call up again.

"Hey ." you said as you saw his face reappear on your phone screen once again.

You hadn't noticed the way his ways trailed to and forth on your face. Like a sponge he fully absorbed the image of yourself you had portrayed ; in your full pajama set ; with your bright bonnet on and a hello kitty face mask plastered on your face.

It was adorable to say the least and soon enough he had screenshots he is using to have some sort of leverage over you.

"Oikawa Tooru when I see you tomorrow it's on sight ."

"What makes you think I'm scared of you, huh?"

"We'll see how frightened you are after I curb stomp you in front of everybody."

You ended the call and sauntered over to your bathroom silently to remove your face mask that had served it's purpose full and well. Serenity had made itself at home in your mind as your gua sha  traveled over your moisturized skin as you destressed from all work that had worn you out.

Soon enough the lights were off and you dozed off into sleep underneath your duvet into the depths of your unconscious mind.
