𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐲 - 𝐑𝐢𝐧𝐚 𝐒𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐦𝐚
It would be a lie to say his heart was just racing, it did somersaults in his chest and knocked the wind right out of his lungs. The fact you confirmed you were single too made the situation even better but his one obstacle would be your crush.
How in the world would he be able to sway your stubborn ass away from a person you like.
Nearly impossible.
How unfortunate he didn't know who your crush was. But somehow he did know about your past romantic endeavors a few with some other irrelevant people but the one that did make the news all around your inner circle was your relationship with Ushijima, it was an unexpected pairing but from what he had heard Ushiwaka was serious about you even in whatever situations you guys landed yourselves in.
Even if he managed to get to you and confess he would have large shoes to fill from your previous endeavors for example some time ago he heard that you had to hide an extremely large bouquet of your favourite kind of flower from your parents that he had delivered to your home for your 16th birthday, it was exhilarating but yet calming in a sense, to have somebody go so far to let you know you were loved.
Not to lie you haven't fully moved on from Ushiwaka, maybe it was because you wanted to receive that same shower of affection, and not gonna lie just because you guys broke doesn't mean y'all stopped fucking around, often times you just met up at the park or his house under the guise that you were visiting a friend, all the while you tried to hide the masculine scent of cologne when you snuck up into the house and the hoodie you didn't have when you left home. It was risky and you didn't need it in your life to be honest, it was unnecessary and time consuming but hell it was fun.
It was always fun to receive attention.
Even after your relationship ended you guys still had a friends with benefits situation going on. It was an easier alternative as you guys had bigger things to worry about and a committed relationship was not one of them, so you both decided to sneak around together. Maybe it's because it was the first relationship you both had it was just so difficult to let go of each other but either way neither of you cared, you just kept it lowkey. Not many people knew you were still fucking around with him because they hated him because he initiated the break-up.
But he didn't know that. You had just started to think what would happen if they found out of your feelings for the both of them. All hell would break loose for sure.
But back to Oikawa's mind, another way to get to know you better for sure was inviting you to a party, a relaxed setting , people you knew and tons of different places to be. His only problem was trying to convince you to go , with your strict parents and your unmovable opinions it would be hard but he would persevere.
Pretty soon the week had already flown by and it was Friday, the party was next week Friday so he wanted to make sure you had enough time to make plans and arrangements. He wanted to agree to come with so bad. And luckily enough for him, it was done. You were going.
He decided to tell you at second break for some odd reason, just because.
"Hey Y/n, I have something to ask you."
"Sure what is it?"
"There's a party next week Friday, wanna come?"
"Who's gonna be there and what time is it?"
"Well a bunch of people from Nekoma and Karasuno maybe Shiratorizawa and obviously your friends and its starts around 8pm"
"Oh okay just wanted to see if I was gonna be surrounded by people I don't know. But either way I'll have to check in with my parents first. But I'll probably be coming. I'll ask for the details later."
"Ok just lemme know then."
It was an almost awkward interaction but either way you were pumped, getting to go to a party and being invited by Oikawa of all people , that was the cherry on your cake. Even if your parents said no you would find a way to go, there would be no way in hell your were going to miss this.
When you got home it was a matter of flipping through all the clothes in your wardrobe.
Was this a casual party?
Did you need to show up and show out in a mini-dress?
You didn't know at all so you slumped over into your chair and started thinking. What would actually happen, would there be alcohol and drugs(highly unlikely though for a party that would be full of athletes) but who knows. All you cared about was the fact you were invited by Oikawa.
He wanted you to be there.
And that was all that mattered.
He also was elated that you had accepted his invite, to hand out with you outside of school in such an extremely casual setting made his spirits soar.
