It wasn't like anything had happened between the two of them, they were as close as they'd ever been. But, if there was one thing Juniper Maddox thought she was majorly missing in her life, it was Charlotte Sine.

They saw each other, not as often as at the start of the year but they saw each other all the same. Their favourite pastime taking place at Charlotte's apartment, turning the girls guest bedroom into some kind of fort as they set a movie to play.

It was juvenile, really. They were in their early 20s playing at a game used most by kids. The first instance happened accidentally a couple of years ago where Juniper festered herself into a panic whilst staying in Charlotte's guest room and with no outlet of her own when she was away from home, she put her energy into creating what they both, in the end, vowed a masterpiece.

They'd done it every time since when one of them needed to say something without words.

Charlotte had invited her over, but Juniper wasn't sure which of them it was supposed to be for. They were as close as ever, that was true, but she felt like she'd seen Alex, Lando and George more often recently than she had Charlotte.

She supposed this is why Charlotte hugged her so tightly when she opened the door, or why Charles was there too, or why all of her favourite snacks were laid out on the bed already.

"Why do I feel like this is an intervention?" She asked as she looked between the two of them, her expression falling slack.

"Because it is." Charlotte said before she dropped her voice to a whisper for only Juniper to hear, "I know he's not talking to you much."

"Thanks for helping Charles." Juniper returned to him before he nodded at them and disappeared into another room. "How do you know?"

Charlotte pulled her through into the guest bedroom now, "Charles mentioned something about Alex and a girl, he was talking about her with Lando and George and as soon as Charles came in, he stopped." She begun, shutting the door behind them, "As usual, Charles wanted to know too so he put some headphones in and pretended to be listening to music, he heard Alex say he just wasn't talking to her as much because something happened between them and now he couldn't bear it."

Juniper shook her head as she looked up at the other girl, "He just, like, stopped but nothing happened between us. It was just a normal thing."

"I don't think anything between you qualifies as particularly normal from what I've heard."

"It was just another wonder attempt, it's no different from any of the others."

"Are you ever going to tell me what these wonder attempts even include?"

"No, not if I can help it."

"You do realise every time you try to fill the other with wonder, you give a piece of yourself to them, with how you attempt to do so?" Charlotte told her, but Juniper had no response to offer.

Charles Leclerc was, naturally, oblivious to anything that was going on between Alex and J. So, whilst in every version of this story Charlotte, Alex or Juniper told, Charles seemed to be encouraging the chaos, everyone involved attests to the lack of truth behind this statement, maintaining that Charles Leclerc was, naturally, oblivious.

Meaning that when Alex knocked on the door, he thought nothing of opening it and letting him into Charlotte's apartment. After all, he had invited him over to collect some shoes Charlotte had designed to gift to one of his sisters.
