ONE MONTH LATER...
September 8th, 2021

Juniper hated early morning phone calls. Alex hated them even more. Early morning phone calls reminded Alex of the time he missed days away from June because he'd answered an early call from Max, which really had been a message from Christian. Early morning phone calls also made him imagine June's growing frustration as she realised nobody on the other end was going to answer.

In short, Alex's philosophy was that you should never, ever answer phone calls before 10 am. He'd tried to teach everyone around him the theory, and for the most part, if they were in the same timezone as Alex then they followed this.

Lilia Maddox was not in the same timezone as Alex and June, and Lilia Maddox was angry.

She wasn't a rule breaker, but she sure hated being left out of the loop to the point where she would work her way around every law just to find something out.

Juniper, in retrospect, should not have answered Lilia's call that morning, but she had.

The phone chimed with 23 text messages first, which Alex found ironic. But June still laid fast asleep on his chest with no falter to the sounds her phone created.

He kissed her forehead now, starting to wake her up slowly. "Juney, I think someone wants to talk to you." He told her before her phone then started ringing, "It's Lilia." He said, and she leaned over to grab her phone quite quickly then.

"Lil-"

"I know you're with Alex! I can see it on Find My Friends! Put him on the fucking phone, Juniper!" Lilia screamed into the phone, so loud that Alex could hear what the younger sister had said without the phone being on speaker.

Alex shook his head firmly, but June's pleading smile caused him to take the call.

"Hey, Lilia." Alex said calmly, but he had switched the phone to speaker and rested it on June's bedside table so she could lay back on his chest.

"How could you not tell me about the Williams seat? Either of you? It would've saved me a hell of a lot of stress!"

"You were stressing over my F1 seat?" Alex questioned slowly, "Wow, June must really be into me." He said whilst his hands ran through her hair as gently as they could.

"Why didn't you tell me!"

"In my defense, I didn't tell many people. Just June and my family."

"I am family!" Lilia protested now, and Alex could feel the reaction of June against his stomach. Sometimes, most of the time, when she laughed, she did so with her whole body. Her laughter then had been no different, the movement tickling against his chest causing him to laugh too.

"Bye Lilia!" June said now as she ended the call, despite her sister's call of protest from the other line. It was funny how involved June's sisters were now when he'd never met them until just over a month ago.

He and Kamri got on better than he thought they would, they both had the same kind of diehard work ethic, and Lilia's lack of a filter at times meant that he knew more about the sisters -- all 3 of them -- than he had to work for.

"So, Lilia knows." Alex said now, looking down towards June.

"I guess that means the announcement is out, Mister Williams 2022 driver." She said with a laugh, shuffling her body so her chin rested on his stomach now and she could meet his eyes with hers. "How does it feel?"
