Imp Au!!

Day fifteen of Phlietober.

~'~'~

Dark threw the door open and glared at the shouting men. He had stepped into his office for a second only for the prisoners in the holding cells to start shouting. It was two minutes, he left them alone for two minutes. He glared around the room and turned to the small creature sitting on the ground. "Anti," he said.

The imp looked up and grinned. He was sitting cross-legged on the floor surrounded by valuables. "Hi," he whispered, fidgeting with a blue beaded bracelet.

"Do those belong to you?"

Anti laughed. "Does now," he muttered, tail flicking as he admired the treasures in front of him.

Dark sighed. "Anti you have to give them back."

Anti grumbled. "But they're criminals. They'll be put in the actual jail in the morning. They don't need it anymore."

"Maybe I should throw you in the prison if you're no better than a common thief."

Anti gulped and bit his lip, thinking. "If you do," Dark pulled a necklace out from under his shirt collar and smiled when Anti's eyes lit up. It was just a simple chain with a ring on it. The ring was dark silver with a small green gem that gleamed in the light. "I'll let you play with this for a while."

Anti stood up and walked up to Dark, abandoning the others treasures. Dark unclasped the necklace and dropped it into Anti's open palm. Anti let out a chirping sound as his nose twitched, smelling his favourite treasure. "Shiny," he whispered, walking into Dark's office.

Dark rolled his eyes and started to pick up the others belongings. "I expect you to distribute these correctly," he muttered, he walked over to the now chuckling people in the holding cell. "What?" he growled.

One of the inmates snorted. "Well it's a bit strange you'd be so soft for an imp."

Dark ignored it and started to hand the criminals back their belongings. "Is the big bad jailer soft for that thing?"

Dark took a deep breath and finished handing back their items. "An imp can smell valuables. He's rather useful to catch criminals. For example, Tyler Brownings," a young man blinked and looked away, "was trying to steal a candelabra. My imp caught him."

The criminals nodded. "Still soft," one muttered.

"He has emotions like you or me and I value his company," Dark said, turning away from them. "No more shouting."

He walked back into his office and shut the door. Anti looked up at him and grinned. He sat on Darks desk, tail swinging side to side as he messed with the ring. "Please stop stealing from them."

Anti laughed. "Yeah yeah. We've been through this before. I steal and you tell me to stop and give me my favourite shiny."

"That is my shiny."

Anti snorted. "You called it your shiny."

Dark smiled softly. "Well, it's mine. I'm letting you borrow it. Stay quiet while I do paperwork will you."

"Ok, Darky!" Anti chirped, grinning when he moved the ring to reflect the sunlight.
