JIMIN'S POV* * * * *
It didn't take long for me to come to the conclusion that I hated her friends. They were too tall, too muscular, and far too good looking for my piece of mind. And they made her laugh, about what I didn't know because they were all speaking English and I could only understand a word here and there.She introduced them as Drew, who she said was one of the best she'd ever seen. Jamie, who had bright neon green hair, and Travis who had a rather impressive goatee. There wasn't a single thing I liked about any of them.
I frowned as she laughed again. June glanced at me and immediately came over to my side. "Jealous, much?" she asked, touching my cheek tenderly. "They've all got girlfriends and wives, you know. I don't poach, anyway. I love you."
They were all looking at her as if she'd grown another head. She switched back to English. "What?! I was born and grew up here and you didn't realize I might speak the language?" She translated for me as she linked our hands. "Do you want to go see Andi?"
"We'd like that," Drew stated, "then you can show us around, right? None of us have ever been to Seoul before."
"Sounds like a plan." She told me their plans. "I know you have to practice, so I'll see you at home afterwards." She kissed his cheek.
I watched them leave still actively disliking all of the men. Why did I have to be so jealous? Yeah, he remembered a time when he hadn't been. A time when he'd been cheated on by someone he loved. He'd been so horribly naive, and stupid, he couldn't forget stupid.
* * * * *-----FLASHBACK-----
-----TWO YEARS EARLIER-----
* * * * *
Lee Mi-Cha was the most beautiful girl he'd ever seen. Her long black hair cascaded down her back in elegant waves and her cinnamon eyes made him feel like the universe was held in her gaze. She was petite so tiny that she'd made him feel large for the first time in his life. The moment he'd laid eyes on her he'd never been able to see anyone else, all he'd wanted, needed was her.
He'd been as shy then, if not more so, than he was now, but she had found a way to tease him out of his shell. He'd been completely under her spell. So far under that he didn't notice that she wasn't anything like she pretended to be. She might have wanted to go to any of his showcases, but she'd wanted to go anywhere she might meet someone more famous. Find someone who was a step or two up the rich and powerful ladder. She had ended up finding a rich CEO, who she'd promptly slept with on my birthday.
He had been so excited, he'd had to go through hoop after hoop to make sure he had the day free. He had wanted to surprise her with a day for just the two of them. He wanted her to know that he felt like she was a priority for him.
He'd shown up at her apartment that fateful morning, putting in the security code she'd given him. He had been smiling when he noticed that she wasn't up yet. All he'd been able to think of was how happy he was that he'd be able to wake her with kisses.
He'd opened her bedroom door quietly to see in graphic detail exactly how much she didn't care about him. Even now he refused to recall the scene he'd witnessed in her bedroom. All the blood had drained from his face, leaving him as pale as a ghost, and dizzy enough that he thought he might faint. That had only lasted for a few moments before the anger set in and he threw the door open with a bang. He received a satisfying shriek from her and a loud curse from the man she was screwing.
