Continued from last chapter...
When Harry gets home, he takes a deep breath and trudges up the stairs.
He passes yellow handprints on his walls and groans aloud when he remembers that he has to figure out a way to clean those out.
As he's making his way to his bedroom, he notices that the door to the master bedroom was cracked open.
Harry swears he closed it this morning, so he goes to investigate.
He opens the door wide and to his surprise he finds Beckham sitting on the bed looking down at something in his hands.
"Beck?" Harry walks closer to him. "What are you doing here?"
At first, Beckham doesn't say anything, but then he slowly lifts his head up and Harry can see the unshed tears in his eyes.
"Beckham, baby, what's wrong?" Harry immediately is by his side, wrapping an arm around him.
"Are you and dad getting back together?" Beckham, asks with a shaky voice.
Harry furrows his eyebrows. "What? What would make you think that?"
"This." Beckham thrusts a piece of paper in his hands.
Harry looks down at the note, and sees that it's addressed to him, from Louis.
"Where did you find this?" Harry asks, carefully taking the note.
"I promise I wasn't snooping. I was just curious because of what happened this morning and decided to look for myself. When I came in here, I found this note on the bedside table," Beckham explains.
Harry traces Louis's handwriting with his index finger, carefully reading each word he wrote.
Good morning H.
I'm sorry that you had to wake up alone this morning, but my agent called saying that there was something I needed to do before the presser today.
I thought about waking you up, but you looked too peaceful and you probably would have slapped me if I woke you up at 5 o'clock in the morning.
I also just wanted to tell you that last night meant a lot to me and I hope that you don't regret it. I know we have a lot to talk about and we definitely still have a lot to fix, but I'm willing to put the effort in. I know that I've been difficult and I know I've hurt you, and I can never ask you to forgive me, but I want to make it up to you even if it'll take my whole lifetime.
I'll do anything to fix what I've broken, just give me a chance, please.
-Louis
"So, are you?" Beckham's voice startles him a little, making him jump.
"Am I what?"
"Are you getting back together with dad?" Beckham asks, with hopeful eyes.
Harry looks down at his son and sees all the emotion written on his face.
Beckham has been through a lot and he will never admit it, but it was really hard for him when Harry and Louis got a divorce.
He remembers his face when they broke the news to him and it broke Harry's heart seeing him like that.
Harry never wants to see that look on any of his children's faces ever again.
"Beck," Harry said gently. "I'm going to be completely honest with you here; I don't know, but he and I are trying to work through some things. It's just really complicated."
