Buckle up this is going to be long people!
he he.
Harry read the speech.
He didn't mean to, but it was literally right there, opened up on the laptop, when he went to wake Louis up to go to that horrible counseling appointment.
Harry sat there just staring at the screen for a few minutes before deciding to just read the damn thing. He knew Louis wanted it to be a surprise, but he couldn't help himself.
The speech was fairly short, but it was beautifully written, which didn't surprise Harry.
Louis always had a lovely way with words, it was like his secret gift that he rarely shared with others.
It had some of Louis's sarcastic humor thrown in there, but there was also some emotional parts that even made Harry tear up.
As beautiful and emotional as the speech was, Harry couldn't help but notice that Louis didn't mention him at all.
He wasn't expecting Louis to say much about him, but he was at least expecting some sort of acknowledgement.
Harry likes to think that their relationship has really improved these past weeks, some could say they were actually friends, but maybe it wasn't the same for Louis.
Even though Harry was a little upset, he wasn't going to confront Louis about it. This was his retirement speech after all and Harry didn't want to interfere with that.
All of this was going through Harry's head as he was currently closing out his first ever segment on Sky Sports.
"I just want to say another huge thank you to, Niall Horan, for being my first ever guest on the Kick-Off. It was a pleasure having you Niall."
"Thanks for having me H." Niall smiles at him, warmly.
"You're always welcome here." Harry reciprocates the smile, before facing the camera to sign off the air. "Okay, well that ends the first ever segment of the Kick-Off. Thank you for joining us and I hope you all enjoyed. This was Harry Styles and I'll see you tomorrow!"
The producer calls for commercial and then with a press of a button, they're off the air.
"Harry!" Niall shouts, right next to him. "You did fucking amazing!"
Niall jumps out of his chair to give him a hug.
Harry easily accepts the embrace and can't help the huge smile that takes over his face.
Before they went on air, Harry was almost certain he was going to faint because of how nervous he was, but thankfully Niall calmed him down a bit and got him focused.
The segment went perfectly and Harry felt so confident during the whole thing.
"Thank you Niall, for everything. You really saved me back there."
"No you saved yourself mate. I just gave you that extra push." Niall demonstrates a pushing motion. "You did amazing, I mean I don't think I have ever had a better interview than that."
Harry involuntarily blushes. "You're just saying that."
"No, I'm not! Seriously Harry, you should have been a host years ago, you're a natural."
"Well thank you," Harry says, still sporting a blush. "I just hope the rest of the world thinks so."
At that exact time, Penelope comes over with a beaming smile on her face.
"Oh they do, our views went up significantly just from your segment, Harry," Penelope informs him. "I told you people would love you."
Harry shakes his head in disbelief. He didn't think people would care or be interested, but looks like he was wrong.
