The delivery room was filled with groans of pain, heavy breaths, and the encouraging words that were coming out of the people's mouths.

The sweats were all over your body, with your hands occupied, gripping the nurses' arms very tight.

The pain and struggle could be clearly seen in your face, trying to breath as the midwives suggested.

You kept pushing, with all of your might, driven by your sheer force of determination, despite you were feeling as if you could pass out at any second.

"Push, ma'am! Push!" One of the midwives shouted.

It had been going on like that for hours and you were way past your limits, but you just couldn't stop there, you wanted your child to come out and hold the little one before passing out.

"You're doing great! The baby's coming out! Just keep pushing!"

And there was it, your eyes sparkled as you were getting happy instead of feeling like burning hell, despite the struggle you were into.

After nine months of waiting, you were finally able to see your first child.

And it might be your last.

"Please come out, I want to see you." You thought to yourself.

With your eyes shut, you grunted one last time with the remaining strength you only had.

Then, you felt a strange feeling down there, it took you long enough to notice that the baby had come out.

You were breathing very hardly, the smile could be seen in your face. You were deeply relieved as your were faintly hearing the crying from your baby.

"It's a boy!" A few of them said. Soon after, they gave you the baby in your arms.

Your vision was blur, but enough for you to see the little one, you were happy.

"So, what's gonna be the name of your child?" The midwife asked, but you couldn't hear her. Your eyes were gradually getting close.

Giving the baby a few, weak, gentle caresses, you traced the features of his face. You then let out your last tear before you had finally stopped moving due to exhaustion.

"I'll love you always." Those were the last words you whispered before you went unconscious.

. . .

"Mummy?" A loud clap of thunder had immediately woken you up from a dream.

You sat up quickly as you turned on the lamp, you then saw a little child carrying a teddy bear.

"David, sweetie? Is there a problem?" You asked worriedly.

"I-I'm scared." He stuttered cutely as he rubbed his eyes with his fingers. A loud roar of thunder was heard again as the flash of light pierced through the window.

It made the poor kid flinch in response. "Mummy!"

He ran fast, and jumped to the bed as he gave you a tight hug immediately, his face was buried on your stomach.

"Aw, you poor baby." You smiled at him as you started caressing his hair. "Come on now, let's sleep. You still have to go to school tomorrow."

"But m-mummy..." He was scared, you could tell it by the tone of his voice.

"Don't worry, sweetie. No one's gonna hurt you. I'll be by your side and protect you mo matter what." You said with a soothing voice.

"Y-You promise?"
