Chapter 6

Chapter 6- Baby Siting Emily

I wake up and feel woozy. I get a strange sense of Deja Vu. I keep falling asleep and waking up in the forest.

I look down at my leg to find it completely healed. I lick the dried blood off my fur and decide to shift. My body starts changing and the pain isn't as bad as the first time. I stand up to find myself naked. I don't have any spear clothes and the ones I was wearing were ripped apart.

I better change back.I felt warm and cozy in my wolf body. I loved being a wolf. I felt a lot safer and I really liked my new Alpha personality.

I guessed it was about 6:00 PM and it was getting darker.

-Damen?-

-Summer?- he sounded sad and desperate

-What's wrong?- now that I was a wolf I felt like our connection was stronger.

-well, I heard my mate howl like she needed help and was forced to hold back the pack and I never heard from her again- I heard the pain in his voice as he thought that his mate was gone

-I'll be there in a couple of minutes okay?-

-yeah-

I began to track the building and used all my instincts. I finally found it and strolled into the clearing. I felt everyone's glaze as they saw my white hide. Did I stand stand out? Hell, yeah! But I just held my head up high and saw how everyone didn't make eye-contact and showed deep respect.

I ran up the stairs until I got to Damen's floor. I knew he was in his room with Emily. I walked up to his door and felt foolish but scratched the door like a cat.

I heard quick footsteps and the door flew open. I flattened my ears and put my tail in between my legs in sign of submission.

I then felt strong arms around my shoulders as my mate's scent surrounded me.

He pulled back and rubbed my face. I licked his face and yelped happily.

"Did he hurt you?" He said staring at my leg

-I'm fine, I healed. I tell you about it later-

I saw his face and it showed shock at my white form. I guess he didn't have the same dream. I felt someone's presence and they smelt of diapers and a stink bomb. I wrinkled my nose and heard Damen laugh.

"I guess someone has a full diaper" he laughed

-Do you have any clothes for me?-

"Yup, in the bathroom" he said as he looked into my eyes

I walked in and went into the washroom. I nudged the door close with my head and started to shift. This time it didn't hurt at all.

I stood up and felt a cool wave wash over me as I shivered. I took a quick shower because I was dirty, sweaty and my blood wasn't completely gone.

I put on some gray sweats with a blue top.

I stepped outside to see Damen with a screeching baby. "Hey, wazz up?" I asked

He looked at me with concern and love. "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine" I said taking the baby and rocking back and forth.

She surprisingly calmed down and stopped fussing. I patted her back and hummed a sweet tune.

"How was the shift?" Damen asked

"It was painful at first but I love my wolf form" I smiled lightly

"You seem good with her"

"Yeah, I have never really handled a baby" I said

We watched a movie while Emily slept in my arms. Then I fed her and played with her.

May came around 10:30 and was very happy that Emily was asleep. I was tired from today's events as wanted to sleep. I knew that Damen had a lot of explaining to do but I didn't push him. I know how hard he works to be the Alpha. I respect him. And I am truly beginning to love him. When May left, I collapsed into Damen's bed and let out a long breath.

Damen laid beside me and hugged me. I felt so protected in his arms and I could die happy. As I turned my head to look at him I saw him smiling. This wasn't a regular smile. This was a All-girls-drop-to-their-knees-in-a-100-mile-radius smile. I snuggled deeper into his chest and inhaled his scent.

I forgot all about my worries and problems. I forgot about work and parents and even about the pack. I closed my eyes and slept with his warmth and protection around me.
