Karenna Tarries was born on raised on the planet Liosia, but when she was grown, her home planet was invaded my the first order.
Her home was destroyed,
Her parents were killed, trying to protect her.
They've always raised her to run from any danger, knowing all to well the galaxy is a cruel place.
So as her father passed, his last words to her instructed her to run.
And she did.
She ran and ran and ran.
She ran until she couldn't run any more.
After so much running her body was exhausted, so she set out a place to rest.
Before she could, however, she had passed out.
As she was passed out between a bar and a ship, a certain resistance member had stumbled across her, Quite literally, as he was heading back to his ship from a mission.
The man had been drinking with the informant from this mission,
But however tipsy he might be, something about this girl intrigued him, and he couldn't bring himself to leave her.
So he carries her aboard his ship and lays her down in the sleeping quarters.
But when the girl had awoken, confused, scared, and having no clue of her whereabouts, the man finds himself wishing he had left the girl passed out where he had found her.
But it was too late now.
Poe Dameron was stuck with Karenna.
