"taeyong-ah, don't be so dull

taeyong sighs into the phone, expressing his hesitance in going out with his old high-school friend, completely stressed out by the fact that the nct127 comeback was in three days. He had been working tirelessly with the rest of the members for weeks to prepare for the Sticker comeback and simultaneously starting preparations for the repackaged album before year's end. It was definitely a hectic period and he could not be more stressed out, especially with a special new commitment, one that nobody knew about outside of his managers and groupmates.

his best friend. his love. his everything.

he and doyoung have been dating for two months, and were still figuring things out, but never really understood the significance of their relationship together, kinda just floating in their "honeymoon phase" of bliss and exhilarating firsts. Like holding hands and cuddling, with occasional forehead kisses and shy giggles while watching a movie on a rainy day at 12am, or going out to the cafes nearby on national boyfriend day to enjoy a cup of warm coffee, stopping by the playground to take pictures of each other to keep as memories of their puppy love.

in the short time they've been together, the pair has discovered new things about each other everyday, like doyoung learning that taeyong sometimes drinks, to deal with his stress. As the two months went by, doyoung made taeyong promise that he would quit the frequent drinking, and only to drink responsibly.

the members all shipped them, and supported them whole-heartedly, sometimes, naturally with a tease or two. they never faced any relationship issues, well until taeyong got a text one day from his long-time high-school friend that he had sometimes met up with to drink together when times got tough.

after doyoung had put in all that time and effort into getting taeyong to quit his stress-drinking, taeyong had completely forgotten about his "friend" that would sometimes call him out to drink at a bar on a random Tuesday night. Most of which taeyong had had to lie to his members about going home to meet his parents, and even doyoung didn't know about the small white lies.

That day, when taeyong had recieved that text, he immediately thought of doyoung with his rabbit smile and warm hugs that reassured him that it was all gonna be just fine on more than one occasion where he spent the night sobbing and wallowing in his insecurities for the upcoming comebacks.

Despite all the warning signs blaring in his mind, he decided it was gonna be a one-time thing, and assured himself it was just to "celebrate" the success of nct so far, pushing the thoughts of doyoung into a box at the back of his mind.
