We sat outside Sunnyside Diner in the Impala.
"Don't forget the extra onions this time," Dean said, handing Sam some money. "Ellie, go with him and make sure he doesn't screw it up."
"Dude, we're the ones who have to ride with your extra onions," Sam groaned.
Dean gave us both a pointed look, and I sighed.
"Come on, Sammy," I said, climbing out of the car.
He followed me toward the door, and Dean called to us one more time through his open window.
"Hey, see if they've got any pie. Bring me some pie!"
The door slammed shut behind us, drowning out the rest of Dean's statement. We headed up to the counter, and Sam began to order.
"Hey, can we get, uh..."
I didn't hear anything else, because suddenly, my stomach clenched in pain and I had to put my hand over my mouth to keep from throwing up. I thought I smelled something that was eerily similar to sulfur, and my eyes widened in panic. I spun around, trying to get to the window to alert Dean, but didn't get two steps before I blacked out.
⁘
I opened my eyes, groaning as I sat up. I was lying on the ground in the middle of the road of what appeared to be a ghost town. I got to my feet, taking out my phone to try and call Sam or Dean, but there was no reception. Groaning to myself, I slipped my phone back in my pocket and started to wander around.
"Sam! Dean! Anyone here?" I called out.
I turned the corner, running into something hard. Before I could fall on my ass, a hand flew out and latched onto my elbow.
"Careful," a deep voice said.
I looked up to see a black man wearing an army uniform. Behind him stood a blonde girl who was cowering into herself.
"Hi, I'm Jake. This is Lily," the man greeted me.
"My name's Ellie. I'm looking for my friends."
"What are their names?"
"Sam and Dean."
"Come on, we'll help you look for them."
"Thanks," I smiled at him.
Together, the three of us continued wandering through the town, calling out.
"Hello? Is anybody there?" Jake called out.
"Sam! Dean!" I yelled.
Just then, three more people came around the corner, and I recognized two of them.
"Sam!"
"Ellie!"
Sam ran over, giving me a big hug.
"Andy, is that you?" I asked, pulling back and looking at one of Sam's new companions.
"Yeah. Good to see you again, Ellie," Andy waved at me.
Then I looked at the other person accompanying Sam.
"Who are you?" I asked her.
"My name's Ava."
"Ava? Like Ava Ava?" I asked looking at Sam.
"Yeah, it's her. Who are your friends?"
"This is Jake, that's Lily," I said, gesturing.
"Is there anybody else?" Sam asked.
"Naw," Jake shook his head.
"How did we even get here?" Lily asked. "A few minutes ago I was in San Diego."
