Dean wanted to talk to me privately in the Impala while Sam and Bobby got things ready for our big plan.

"I really don't like this, Ellie Bear."

"I know, Dean, but we have to do this now if we want any chance at saving your sorry ass. We don't have any more time."

"Will you tell Maddie all about me when she's born?"

"Of course I will, Dean. She deserves to know about her daddy. Same goes if she ends up being a James instead."

"No, she's not a James. That's our little girl in there," Dean insisted.

"Yeah, okay, boss," I smiled.

He leaned forward, and I met him for the kiss halfway. However, right before he pulled away, I felt him slap one side of a pair of handcuffs to my wrist and attach the other side to the steering wheel.

"What the hell, Dean?"

"I told you. I'm not risking you or our daughter's safety. You get to sit tight until either me or Sam and Bobby come to get you."

"Wait, Dean! Dean!"

"I love you, Ellie Bear."

He winked at me as he climbed out of the car.

"Damnit!" I swore.

"What do you think, baby girl? Is it time for Mommy to go save Daddy's ass?" I muttered.

I didn't know how much time had passed since the car was off and I didn't have a watch, but I was sick of waiting. Raiding through the glove compartment, I found a paper clip, working quickly to get the handcuff off my wrist. When it finally fell off, I climbed out of the car and hurried in the direction of the little girl's house. When I managed to slip inside, I made my way into the room where Sam, Dean and Ruby all were.

"I'm sorry, Dean," Ruby was saying. "I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy."

There was a howling noise and Dean's face fell as he looked over in the direction of the noise. Sam also looked over, understanding something was up.

"Hellhound," Dean breathed.

"Where?" Sam asked.

"There," Dean gestured.

We couldn't see what he was seeing, but we could clearly hear the growling coming from it. Ruby's face also fell upon seeing the Hellhound. Suddenly, Dean bolted from the room and Sam, Ruby and I followed him quickly, closing the doors in the face of he Hellhound.

"Ellie?! What the hell are you doing here?" Dean demanded, finally noticing me.

"We got tired of waiting in the car," I shrugged.

Exasperated, Dean reached into the bag of supplies, taking out goofer dust and lining the door Sam and Ruby were leaning against. The pounding stopped as soon as the line was complete and we all stood still for a moment. Then Dean remembered the window and bolted over to line that in dust too.

"Give me the knife," Ruby ordered Sam, "maybe I can fight it off."

Sam looked at her, a confused expression on his face.

"What?"

"Come on! The dust won't last forever."

Dean turned to face them as Sam started to slowly hand the blade over to Ruby.

"Wait!" he yelled.

Sam turned, looking at his brother.

"You wanna die?" Ruby shot at him.

"Sam, that's not Ruby. That's not Ruby!"

Sam looked back at... Not Ruby, who flung both him and me against the wall without touching us, pinning us in place. Sam dropped the knife, it falling to floor with a clatter. She then punched Dean without touching him and flung him on top of the table, pinning him in place as well. Sam was looking from Dean to Not Ruby while I bit back a groan as I felt something wet start making its way down my leg under my jeans.

"How long have you been in her?" Dean asked Not Ruby.

Ruby's entire expression morphed to become more childlike, and I realized she must be Lilith now.

"Not long," she said, looking down at her body. "But I like it. It's all grown up and pretty."

When she looked back at Dean again, her eyes turned a pure, milky white.

"And where's Ruby?" Sam demanded.

"She was a very bad girl," Lilith said, eyes returning to normal. "So I sent her far, far away."

She tilted her head little by little, and the bones in her neck cracked with the motion.

"You know, I should've seen it before... but you all look alike to me," Dean said.

After a beat, Lilith walked slowly over to Sam.

"Hello, Sam. I've been wanting to meet you for a very long time."

She grabbed onto his chin, forcing him to face her and kissed him.

"Your lips are soft," she breathed when she pulled back.

While Sam struggled to get free of her grip, I concentrated a bit, thinking. It had been a long time since I had actually used my abilities, and I couldn't remember the last time I'd heard the Voice... angel, speaking to me, but I had to try. The will to save Dean and his brother motivated me, trying not to think about the blood dripping down my leg.

"Eleanor," I heard the Voice whisper. "Focus."

I snapped back to the present, as Dean's screams filled the room. Lilith had let the Hellhound in, and it was tearing into his skin.

"No! Stop!" Sam yelled.

Lilith just looked over at us, then back at Dean as he struggled on the floor. The Hellhound had already attacked his leg and started attacking his chest while he screamed in pain. I felt a tear roll down my cheek as he managed to roll onto his stomach.

"STOP IT!" Sam yelled louder.

Lilith just continued watching with a smile on her face as the Hellhound tore into Dean's back and shoulder.

"No!"

Dean flipped over, the Hellhound slashing at his chest once more.

"Eleanor!" the angel yelled at me.

I flinched a little, closing my eyes and tuning out Dean's screams as I concentrated on recreating the warm feeling in my chest from when I killed Wrath. Dean's screams had stopped and I was vaguely aware of Lilith trying to use her powers on Sam and I. But then, my eyes snapped open and I held out my hand, absorbing all the energy she was sending at us. When the light faded from the room, Sam was staring at me in confusion while Lilith had a look of terror on her face.

"Back," she spat at me, taking a step away.

I took a deep breath, walking toward her.

"I said back."

I raised a hand again, glaring at her with determination.

"I don't think so," I growled.

Before I could do anything else, though, Lilith exited Ruby's body, the black smoke going through the ventilation in the roof. Ruby's body collapsed and I hurried over to Dean's side where his body lay motionless on the floor, torn up and bloody. I lifted his head into my lap, sobbing.

"No... No... Dean."

Sam came over, tears streaming down his face as he knelt beside me, both of us mourning Dean's death.
