Chapter 8:

Lana

"C'mon Lana... It's not that big of a deal..."

"Look I dont want to do anything we'll both regret."

"Regret? Baby I love you...."

I shot up straight in my bed‚ gasping. Tears were threatening to fall from my widened eye.

"Lana what's wrong?"

"Get away from me! Don't touch me!" I screamed.

"It was just a bad dream‚ Hey... Shhhh it's okay."

"NO! GET AWAY!" I got off my bed and landed on the floor into a curled ball. Judging by the darkness in my room ‚ it was about 4:30. I let my tears fall and I felt the draft of someone sitting next to me.

"I'm not gonna touch you Lana. I'm here okay? I'm not gonna go anywhere."

I lifted my head to see Peyton's dark hair hanging down to his forehead.

"Peyton..." I whispered ashamed of my outburst.

"Shhh it's okay... I'm here." He repeated. I leaned into him and breathed deeply letting the tears soak his shirt.

"I don't want to talk about it Peyton. Please don't make me." I whimpered.

"I won't make you talk about anything you don't want to talk about. Hey I have an idea." He got up and I wiped my tears as I curiously watched him grab his phone and plug it into my iHome.

"What are you doing?" I asked.

"Sometimes...." He pressed play‚  and a semi familiar tune started to play.

"When I can't sleep or I have something gnawing at my brain‚" Peyton started to dance awkwardly.

"I dance to whatever comes on Pandora. It really helps get the mind off whatever you are thinking about." I watched as he danced terribly around my room.

"You're an idiot." I laughed as he sang into an invisible microphone.

"I can tell just what you want you don't want to be alone!"

"I can say it's what you know but you've known it the whole time!"

Peyton pulled me to my feet and started dancing around me‚ making me burst out laughing.

"C'mon Lana! You know you wanna join in!!"

"Not with you! You look like a crazy gorilla!"

He wiggled his eyebrows and I had no choice but to start dancing around with him. We swayed and jumped around til we were content and wore out.
