I took a deep breath and sat up. I pulled my hair back into a ponytail and gave Susie a quick kiss on the lips. We both blushed and looked away. Still, it was amazing how quickly I was getting used to having a girlfriend. I mean- that's not what I meant! Well- I mean... I don't want to go too fast, ya know? But it's worth a shot.

"Susie, are we... do you want to be... you wanna go out with me?" I stumbled over my words, but I made it through. Susie pulled me in for a kiss, longer than the one before. It was even better, since I knew that I wasn't dreaming this time. We stopped so we could breath. She's so close to me!

"I'll take that as a 'yes'." I whispered happily, with a grin. We both laughed.

"I wish that we could stay like this forever." Susie smiled, only an inch away from my face.

"My heart feels like it's going to explode." I whispered in reply.

"Same." She backed up a bit and then blushed. Her tail was wagging happily behind her. "So... how long have you liked me?"

I laughed nervously and started to blush. "Since that time you told everyone that Kris's dad was Santa."

"Woah." Susie mumbled, her face got red. "I mean- I always thought you were cute, but I didn't really start liking you until 8th grade."

"I like to plan ahead." I shrugged. We laughed and I looked into her yellow eyes, while she looked into my brown ones. I started to blush again, I looked away.

"So... do you want to study at the library tomorrow?" I said awkwardly. What are you supposed to say to the love of your life when it turns out that she likes you back and now she's your girlfriend?

"That's a pretty lame first date." Susie laughed.

"Well what would you suggest?" I smiled.
