9:30. 30 minutes until I walk down the isle. I take a deep breath.

"Um... Guys? We should probably head downstairs." I tell my friends. They both glance at the clock. Susie runs out with the twins in her arms. Noelle grabs my hand and follows her. We should have been downstairs a long time ago. By the time we get to my official dressing room, we only have 15 minutes left.

I open the door a crack and look outside. There's lots of flowers, lots of guests, lots of food... and then there's him. Lancer's standing at the alter. I smile and stare at him.

"Get back in here, lover boy." Susie pulled me back into he room. She rolled her eyes. "You'll see him in 10 minutes ."

We walked out of the dressing room, to the waiting room, where we found the wedding party. We got everyone in a line. The bridesmaids and groomsmen, princes and princesses from other kingdoms, were paired up. Next, was Susie and Noelle since Noelle was my maid of honor and Susie was the best man (even though she's a girl). I was last. By the time we got in line, it was time to start the wedding. Everyone walked out of the waiting room. My turn. The music starts playing. One foot in front of the other. I look up and catch Lancer's gaze. We both blush and I look at my feet. I'm finally at the alter. We go through the motions, say all of the words, but most of the time, Lancer and I are making funny faces at each other when everyone is looking at the fancy guy who stands in between us.

"If anyone would wish to object, then speak now or forever hold your peace." We all sat in silence for a moment.

"Ok, good. Now you may kiss the bride." The door to the garden slammed open. Lancer's mom.

"I obje-!" She tried.

"No! Shut it, Queen!" I interrupted. I kissed Lancer before anyone could say anything else. Quickly, since we had to get away. For a moment we stood there and blushed, but then I grabbed his hand and bolted to the other outside door, across from the one that queen was in. I led Lancer around the castle and circled to the front.

"What are we doing?" Lancer asked as we ran.

"We're gonna go hide in my room since it's up high. Your mom can't do anything about us being married, since you already kissed the bride." I explained as we ran up a flight of stairs. Finally, we arrived to my room. There was a guard outside, like always.

"Hey, Archer. Can you send out a decoy carriage?" I asked politely. Archer nodded and jogged down the stairs. Maybe that didn't make any sense to you, but Archer was basically my dad. When I was little, my parents went on "vacation" and never came back. Archer raised me and told me stories every night about princesses fighting evil witches or nights fighting dragons. A lot of the time, the protagonists would send an empty carriage to distract the villain. That's what I'm doing. I hope it works.

I opened the door and led lancer inside. I collapsed onto my bed and yawned.

"I'm already tired."

Lancer smiled and sat next to me. "It's been... interesting."

"Your mom just crashed our wedding and I didn't even get a proper kiss!" I retorted.

"I can fix that." Lancer scooted closer.

"How do you un-crash a wedding?" I said, confused.

"The other thing." Lancer rolled his eyes and got close to my face.

"Oh." I blushed a little. "That would be nice."

And so we kissed. And then we talked. And then we started to get tired. We were both on my bed, leaning on the wall. I put my head on Lancer's shoulder and he put his head on mine. As I was drifting off to sleep I started to think.

I'm shy.

Lancer isn't.

It's funny...

Susie was the typical mean girl.

Noelle is the nerd.

I guess it really is true...
