Arthur had froze in his tracks, the thoughts that recollected in his mind had played faster than he can actually register them. Taking a deep breath, he finally took a good look at you, and then back his sketches of you in his journal. The drawings have definitely been you. Which means, the beautiful woman that he saw at the lake, was also you...
But he felt more betrayed now that he was seeing a different person before him. Betrayed that he could call you a friend but actually hid who you really were. You certainly weren't no 'Stranger.' Rather, you were a woman who must have possessed another name... Your real name.
"A-Arthur... Please, let me explain." You pleaded, placing your revolver on the ground and slowly rising up with your hands up.
"Y' better explain the whole truth partner..." The gunslinger's tone was practically a growl at this point. His pistol was aimed right at your direction, "another lie and I swear I'll shoot y'..."
You nodded in agreement, and completely understood why Arthur felt this way. You've been lying to everyone in the gang about your real identity the moment Dutch had taken you in. Maybe it's time that they finally know the truth. The only thing you feared was if they would take your bounty for $5000 and take you to the law. Arthur needed to know the truth, and one wrong move could very well cost your life.
"I-I had to do it, Arthur." You stuttered, panic riddled into your tone. "I had to lie to save my life."
"Is that all?!" The outlaw angrily growled at you once again. "Y' gotta tell me some more while my patience is still intact, miss stranger."
You reached into your satchel, spotting Arthur in your peripheral cocking his gun closer into your direction. "I-it's just a piece of paper..." A piece of paper folded into fours had been pulled out, with you stretching you arm out to hand it over to a still pissed off Arthur.
The gunslinger practically ripped the folded paper off of your grasp as he frantically unfolded it. He kept his gaze onto you, his stormy blue eyes being able to penetrate you in the core that if you were to move a muscle, he would surely shoot you dead.
Arthur scanned through the paper, which had contained a drawn portrait of a woman with the bounty price. There was a heading written in bold red letters that read 'Black Belle's daughter, (first name)(last name) with a bounty of $5000. Bring in ALIVE.' The drawing had clearly resembled your face, which deciphered that it was indeed your face on that wanted poster.
Arthur's gaze to you had slowly softened, along with him lowering his gun. What seemed like a mixture of guilt and concern washed over his expression. He felt guilty for threatening you for a situation you had so little control with. Sure you lied, but it was purely because you were just trying to survive day by day into this cruel world.
"Black Belle had a daughter?! Well shit, I guess she's standin' in front of me." The outlaw tucked his gun back into its holster. "I'm... I'm sorry I acted the way I did. I shoulda let y' do some more explainin'."
"It's okay, Arthur." You returned, attempting to be calm in this tough situation. "But I hope you now understand why I had to lie about who I was. It was either being caught and killed by Colm O'Driscoll, or get hanged by the law."
"I... I was also scared that you'd turn me into the law for all that money." You continued before Arthur could say anything. "Y'know 'cause, you're part of an outlaw gang and we outlaws want money."
"Is there anything else you need to tell me? Y' mentioned about Colm O'Driscoll." Arthur's tone was more curious with a hint of concern now more than anything.
"Well, they found wanted posters of us. Then they managed to find our place, and my ma didn't want me to die so she told me to run. My ma's bounty was also worth $5000... Colm would have gotten that money if he didn't... If he didn't get too trigger happy and ended up killing her. He only got half the bounty money, and now I guess he wants me so he could get the bounty for the full price."
